This it completely user error you are destroying it with your incompetence. It has adjustments to fine-tune it. I’ve had mine for five years. The only thing I’ve had to replace was the rubber on the wheels. Maybe try reading the instruction manual.

ALL BRANDS HAVE HIT AND MISS PRODUCTS. MILWAUKEE, DEWALT and MAKITA ALL HAVE MADE ACES, REALLY GOOD AND SOME NOT SO GOOD. THAT SAID, YOU NEED TO LOOK OVER YOUR PROSPECT TOOL AND CRITIQUE IT BEFORE BUYING, DON’T TRUST BY THE BRAND ONLY. IF THE TOOL UNDERPERFORMS, IT COULD ALSO REQUIRE MORE CARE FROM THE USER. GOOD LUCK

Not too stoked with my 18v bandsaw. Underpowered and the blade slips super easy. Absolutely love my corded Milwaukee bandsaw. Wondering if their m18 have the same performance.

i used it for 3 years no issue, but since it lost rubber band around the wheel due to metal particle grinding over time, it starts to pop-out of the metal roller just like yours, I will be replacing the rubber band soon,

Taking into consideration the comments on the proper use of a portable bandsaw, and the fact that I have 6 other Makita battery tools,this particular model IS an absolute POS

Who taught you how to cut strut like that. I've never had my bandsaw blade jump its tracks. I've been an electrician for 18yrs and it's the best tool in my box. Always start your cut on the solid side of the strut, your lucky you just didn't snap it doing it like that. Fyi
@scotverbs155511 ай бұрын
I own this and I'm an electrician, I also own one of the exact saws and it sucks balls! The saw is more likely at fault for that lousy cut that you're complaining about. And with one hand, plus just a demonstration.. I wish I knew how to fix this too. I spent a lot of money on it as well. just as everybody else that bought one too.

@RocketDolphin896 жыл бұрын
Your letting the blade bind because you can't cut straight worth a damn. Hell a corded band saw will do the same thing if the user can't cut straight. User error.
@Cameron28746 жыл бұрын
Blade is not tentioned correctly and by the look of that blade housing it looks like its been dropped. Seems like you expect a machine to work properly without ever fine tuning it or knowing how it works properly.
@Bodernem6 жыл бұрын
No, nothing wrong with the machine, about 2:40 in into the video, after the blade is put in, its clear that the tension is loss as the blade never get straightened out in the cutting zone. There must be an adjustment for that.
@scotverbs155511 ай бұрын
None to be had. Every other brand out there, and later models... yes, the screw exsists..
@cameraman25059 ай бұрын
@@scotverbs1555There is part 97 screw that sets the angle of the non motor driven axle. It's somewhat hidden and makita made it uncovered on the next version of their mini bandsaw.

I have the same saw...same issue. One cut and and done. I spoke with Makita and this is a recognized defect. They will email you instructions on how to fix or they will fix it at no charge. I exchanged 3 times at Home Depot, all with the same issue before calling.

From what I can see the blade is just a bit too long and not tensioning enough.

I tried something today to fix this and I have had good success throughout the day. I removed the blade, removed the plastic free-wheel, removed the rubber tire from the free-wheel. I reinstalled the rubber-tire UPSIDE-DOWN on the free wheel and reinstalled the free wheel. Follow the link here to see the Makita parts breakdown and the free-wheel assembly. www.dropbox.com/s/cg25tkrx4krcb3s/Makita%20Parts%20Breakdown%20DPB181Z%20and%20XBP01.pdf?dl=0

Why the h**l doesn't Makita FIX this issue? This saw works great WHEN THE BLADE STAYS PUT, but it come off the rollers so easily it's a joke. I feel like Fonzie with this saw, since I'm the only one than can get it to work more than a couple of times before the friggin' blade falls off!

I have actually experienced the same problem with the blade jumping out. Its super tedious having to fix the blade constantly. The makita blades are hard to come around in my local shops and so far i had bought 1 blade every 2 wks far more than my coworkers who use dewalt and Milwaukee bandsaws. Also they never have the issue with their blade jumping out. I hope their is recall on this issue. I love makita, i have been using their tools for 8 yrs . but im not sure this was engineered correctly
