Indeed they are not , despite so many misreading the zxmxie knife and machete ban is the knife and machete that identify as zxmbie knives and zxmbie machetes which we as knife makers, suppliers worked our nuts off campaigning to MPs Home Secretary etc, traditional, functional knives and machetes were retained 😊

Does the sheath fit the original style golok. I have a pristine 1966 issue. Do you sell the sheath separately?

The BMC sheaths fit our blades only. A custom can be made but it needs the blade sent to us.

I like the look of this machete but a couple of questions. The handle looks very "square", I don't see any contouring at all. I usually shape wood handles with roughly "coke bottle" shape. Did you do much testing on the handle shape? Also I'm totally unfamiliar with this steel, being more used to buying knives by Italian, Nordic and US makers. Can you give us any more info on it? edit: I see on your kickstarter page that the steel is comparable to 1075 which suits me fine.

@@TheSpoovy thanks for the feedback. I'm pleased to say this was an early prototype with a very chunky handle. Agree with you that there's little worse than a chunky, square handle. Our currently available production blades have been slimmed down and chamfered more since this video was made. We try to go for 'apple' shaped handles. The flared front and rear swells keep a nice tight mid-grip and more security for choked up and choked back grips. Good for a high kinetic energy chopper. CS80 is indeed a fairly rare carbon spring steel but perfect for larger blades. Super easy to sharpen, really tough and holds an edge well. Just not very corrosion resistant.

Cheers Tom! Great idea on the sharpening and maintenance side of things. I've made a few of those but never uploaded. I'll do so soon. No cats have ever been harmed in the making of these vids!
