The beginning of the story is super padded, skip to @6:29, it seems super padded and high profile enough that there should be a corresponding real life news report but there isn't. Short version Husband and Mother-In-Law are snooty pseudo-intellectuals who like to abuse anyone they see as less intelligent, He's cheating on his wife and his mother approves so they decide to fake her suicide and drug her. Through happenstance her brother was going to visit, tricks both her husband and mother in law into drugging themselves, and saves her. The story then goes on to say the wife decided not to pursue alimony despite her attackers being charged with attempted murder. All of this with no real world news story that would be super easy to find with how specific the events were.
