Some tips because the gameplay is making me sperg out like crazy I'm sorry I can't help it aaaauugghhh: 1. Game too slippery? Play a character with lower weight, like Fang or even Sonic if Fang is still too slippery for you. 2. If you *just tap the drift button once* when boosting around a corner instead of full-on drifting, you get a really tight turn that still gives you a boost at the end and feels downright euphoric to pull off.

Update 2.2 just dropped the other day. As someone who initially got filtered after the obnoxiously long tutorial, I gotta admit it's a lot more fun to play now. The handling is smoother, the AI has been toned down a bit (they specifically noted cutting down on rubberbanding), the trick system is now tied to a button press so you don't accidentally run off a ramp while drifting, and there's tons of accessibility options. I still wouldn't call it beginner-friendly but it's worth a second look.

Metal is a very punishing character to start with (High Max speed ergo low acceleration and heavy weight meaning worse handling) I would recommend trying Lighter more Accel leaning Characters (higher up and more to the left) until you get a better feel for the courses.

Oh and uh, I know I already posted a comment, but i feel that i should point this out. Each character has different stats that can be veiwed by enabling more information on the char select. If you don't like the feel of one of 'em, I'd recommend trying another! I'd also reccomend setting input delay to 0, and lite steering/drifting to off in your profile settings. It is seriously ridiculous that those are not the default values.

Skill iss- nah This game is not at all friendly to newcomers, they have to be silvered until they learn all the mechanics of the game and improve them to be able to do well with the cheating AIs or the tryhards of the online servers

Dunno if you figured it out but drifting in this game makes you lose speed, especially if you're trying to move into the other direction. Because of this you do a tighter turn and bump into walls. It feels bad because you're expected to go fast through these corners The solution for this is to use rings, it prevents any speed losses you take from drifting or in some cases, makes you really fast. Got an item? Tough shit, lose it and use the rings. It honestly feels like it'd be better to get the slot machine than an item pick up solely because rings are so good in this game. And items being on the same button as rings make it feel awful

You know, I saw some improvement! You started fast-falling to avoid stuff! Game *is* pretty brutal, not gonna lie. I can manage the offline mode fine enough, but online I tend to barely place in any given race, especially when it has a really tight drift spiral with no walls. I low key love the game, but I understand the complaints.

The funny ring racer vids are rolling in! Shit is tough, somehow got an S rank on the third cup first try but somehow still dont feel confident enough for online. There's so much happening i dont even realize when im in first half the time

I still find it amusing that the idea of a tutorial lasting more than 5 minutes max makes people go absolutely FERAL with rage because they would rather none at all and just throw themselves into online/the main game before inevitably flopping and doing bad because they need to get to the thing they want N O W (as if the idea of a new SRB2K doing anything besides just jump on online doesn't matter because lol that all people want). And honestly, the tutorial for the game isn't that bad, actually is quite entertaining at least for a first-time player. And as for the drifting/turns/slopes/ect., someone on the discord best put it that it's about learning when to and not to drift. And to use rings sparingly where you need to most when drifting or going up slopes to do best. As someone who kept sliding off of every edge in SRB2K originally, this let me actually handle big turns safely and do a lot better.

I'd recommend you to get a lighter character. And if you have not played the tutorial, please do.

this game's kinda insane to be real but it can be enjoyable once you learn it that being said that's not exactly a good thing but just some advice? your turns are pretty wide, so you should try playing a lightweight to make these corners faster

please play some singleplayer. it's really compelling and there's tons of fun unlockable characters and skins and cool stuff. its like buying mario kart, going straight to online, and getting mad when you dont get results from people who have more practice than you. This game is really really really fun once it clicks

Man,this game is AWESOME,and mid sometimes...,beacuse tge gameplay is fun when you learn who to play,multiplayer is the same but whit pro players and stardant people,the bots go crazy sometimes,like,you are in 1 and out of no where a bot shows up and gets your place,drift are a little goffy in some places,the chalenges are strange,and the visuals are beatyful
