Do you fix them aswell I have a 1914 victor and the turntable won’t spin after buying it and transporting it home when it worked perfectly fine before

I do complete restorations yes. Check the motor and make sure the governor is spinning freely with the turntable off. Feel free to message me stevepellicano at gmail dot com.

Lovely conservation, magnificent instrument! :-) Does the timber finish on quartered Oak machines 'alligator' like "mahogany"? "Mahogany" can be any fine-grained appropriately stained timber, especially in the 1920s eg: maple. Oak is unmistakeable with its incredible grain patterns--IMO the King of timbers.

I havent seen an oak with alligator finish damage. All mahogany in my experience.

Pretty rare record! Sounds like they took the Polly Wolly Doodle melody. I wonder how that worked. Maybe it was never copyrighted? 🤔 ❤

Recorded on October 16, 1925, and originally released on Victor 19823. Reissued on Montgomery Ward M-4275 in 1933. The "Trinity Choir", under the direction of Clifford Cairns, was actually the "Victor Light Opera Company" choral group. Pipe Organ acompaniment by Mark Andrews.

I'm not sure where you got your info but 1902 is not the recording year. I collect Ada Jones & I have this in my collection. It was recorded in 1910 & released in 1911! But I can assure you it's not as old as 1902, I'm sorry to say. If it was from 1902 it would also be Single Sided. Double Sided records didn't become common until 1908. They did make double sided records before 1908 but they are extremely rare. 1908 was the year they made double Sided records commercially available!

It is a late acoustic recording, because Columbia Records didn't want to dump their acoustical recording equipment that they have perfected over the years so they gave it to their Dime Store labels. Harmony records switched to the electrical recording system around 1930

Yes. {RCA} Victor [and Eli Oberstein] arranged to reissue earlier recordings for sale through Montgomery Ward's catalog {on their own label} from 1932 through 1940.
