Yupp, I know, that there is a discussion where all the Asamas Torchys and Lincolns and other cheap brands has been made. In comparison with this model the neckthru-construction of the Kasuga Scorpions is different. As well as the covers of the trussrod and the electric circuit. But all these features matches with the Kawai F1-Junior. I have a Kawai F1 and I am very sure, that most specs are identical. But.... you never know. At least: The quality of this specific "The Asama" is good - despite the tuners, which are cheap ones. Nevertheless they work - so I will keep them..

Hi does this guitar have a serial number imprinted in the fretboard beneath the last (22nd) fret? I own a goldtop with a 7 digit imprint that starts with 84... and has a sticker Made in Japan. However the back and sides are lacquered in dark colour and thus not translucent like others I saw. Any comments available? Tks and regards

Good playing and tone both as always XD I‘m also Interested in ELK tele😜 I'll keep follow your new video bro. Please keep do it. I have to say that: this channel like a big vintage guitar library for me to check and study!! ❤
Thanks for the message, but where did you get your information from? There were at least three brands named "Oakland". "Oakland & Co" was the trademark of an English music distributor. The guitars were manufactured by Chushin, among others. Then there were Okaland guitars whose headstock letters look very playful: these instruments came from Kiso-Suzuki. And then there were instruments that were ordered from a German distributor for German-speaking countries and sold under the "Oakland" label: These guitars were - at least that's the information a distributor gave me at the time - manufactured by Matsumoku. If you have other information where this guitar was built, I kindly ask you to share it with us. I'm always excited to find out new things about the guitars. Thank you in advance.

I think a Washburn Stage (A10 or higher) would be a good fit. It sound richer than an SG, but doesn't quite have the jazzy warmth of an artist. In this respect, a good addition for a set of electric-guitars. If you have the chance to try/play one, don't miss it. Good luck - and rock on!

Hello I just bought the same model, could you explain to me what the 3 switches at the bottom change about the sound, trying to configure what sound is best for me but it’s difficult without knowing what these switches do! Many thanks and great playing :)
@DocMatsumoku4 ай бұрын
Hi, The switches are assigned analogously to the pickup positions. The first (upper) switch is for the coil split of the neck humbucker (MMK 57), the second, middle switch is for the coil split of the bridge humbucker (MMk 57) and the third (bottom) switch switches the pickups (if the selector switch is activated for pickups) to out-of-phase mode. This gives you a lot of options, all of which I like, except for out-of-phase. But I don't like that sound on any guitar. It always sounds too bland, colorless and lifeless. But that's my personal opinion. Hope this answer will helb to find your favorite setup.. and have fun with your Oakland which is a exellently made guitar.

(I just saw the video demo that you did several years ago of the IBANEZ ROADSTAR RS1500 and thought there might be a good chance that you would notice my comment amongst one of your most recent demos) I have that guitar! (bought it new during my college garage band days in the mid-80’s) This is not so much of a comment as it is a burning question that maybe you could answer for me. THE QUESTION: if you still have that gorgeous instrument (and yes it plays like a dream) can you possibly tell me what the height is that you have your pickups set at?? It’s been tucked away in a closet without seeing the light of of day for the better part of the last 35 years and now that I have the inspiration to start playing it again I feel that I’m not getting the most out of them and no matter how much I experiment with different height settings I’m still not totally satisfied. ** If you ever happen to see this message from me at some point in the near (or not so near) future it would be wonderful if you replied to me with the answer to my dilemma in this demo thread somewhere that I might see it!
@DocMatsumoku4 ай бұрын

@@DocMatsumoku YOU ARE A SAINT!! . .and I can’t thank you enough🙂 (I’ll let you know at some point in time in the near future to let you no how things pan out) A few months ago I even went so far as to contact IBANEZ and I actually (after about a week or so after) got a reply although it was my last dead end before giving you a shot. The tech there said he could not be sure because, somewhat surprisingly, they did not have any records on anything that far back in years!🤷🏼♂️ However he did let me know he was fairly sure that the guitars leave the factory with (a standard height of 2mm across the board which I found just a little odd but I did take it as a good starting point but I guess I’m just too picky cause no amount tweaking satisfied my ears. I never had this dilemma with my main guitar (Les Paul with two stock burst buckers) no matter what model amp I’ve used.

Hi Peter, yes, have had once the oppurtunity to hold a Vox 25 in my hands. Feelt very much like a strat - because of the maple-fretboard and a Fender-like scale length of 25 1/2. I prefer the shorter Gibson scale, which the Custom 24 has.
