I do say all the time our ancestors never had to worry about tummy time, and room temp…. But Jesus Christ my son doesn’t bump his head he SMACKS his head in the rails. I’ve gotta get pool noodles on it before he knocks himself out and I have a concussed child on my hands lol

My son is slamming his head into the crib as we speak and he's been doing this for over a year. My wife tried to wake him up and rock him but then he didn't fall back to sleep for 2 hours. Not worth it. He's 2.

Biden admin don’t like bumpers that could prevent head injury, but passed law to change gender without telling parents.

These cribs are very hard. My granddaughter is 10 months, I don’t like when she bumps her head on the hard crib.

All cribs are hard. My son has been doing it for 12 months. At one point we just surrounded the whole crib with pillows, like the ones for the couch decoration, so when he did plow his head into something it would be soft. He's 2 now and needs more space so we removed the pillows. He's back to plowing his head lol. He wakes up in the morning perfectly fine so I'd have to agree with the doctor and say leave them be.

I find it frustrating that so many people minimizes the problem of baby hitting their head on crib rails. Some babies are milder and they just bump their head on the rails when they move - that's fine. But some babies are big movers they shake their head violently and when their head gets stuck (when they rotate) they panick and kick their legs, which causes their head to jam into the rails really hard. They startle themselves awake and cry uncontrollably. Please do not minimize the struggles those parents go through by implying they want bumpers just because they are "cute."

Okay but my baby wakes up every two hours throughout the night because my baby hits his head on the crib and he’s 10 months 😭

Could it possibly be from something else other than hitting the head? Like to breast feed or they pooped or peed on themselves?

@@TheDrwhowho We got breathable crib bumpers, but they didn't help much. Also now my baby is 12 months old, and there was no negative effects from the times he bumped his head. As they get older, they gain better balance, and stop doing this

Interesting 🤔, I tried to let my baby to cry it out....waited for almost an hour, he was really upset so eventually I gave up and held him. Not sure if that's the right approach for my baby unless you mean I have to wait for over an hour?

Hello! listening from Melbourne, Australia!! We have 6 months old baby boy. just started solids few weeks ago and past 2 days given peanut butter on toast since told to introduce allergenic food earlier. anyway his been having massive explosive poo on days when peanut butter is given. is this an allergic reaction? he was given peanut butter at 7.30am and he done explosive poo in the evening. He had no rash or any reaction after eating peanut butter but read that diarrhoea is also an allergic reaction, so do i stop for now? or do i continue? thanks for the webinar.

For kids with food allergies, do these second generation antihistamines work to prevent anaphylaxis? Obviously something to talk with the pediatrician about, but I'm curious if a child has a response plan that indicates using Benadryl for certain symptoms of a food allergy can a 2nd gen antihistamine be substituted (and what are the strengths of things like Cetirizine vs Fexofenadine?
