Not silly, we worry about them all the time when it is so cold out. The barn is actually 20 degrees warmer than outside and we keep a heat lamp in the creep feeder for the babies if they get too chilly.

It takes a couple of feedings on the milk bar before they stop turning back to the human for milk but they are doing well!

When were your 'wean-lings' born? Are they for the Christmas market? What age do you wean them at and do you time their weaning with their mom's breeding? (taking notes! for my massive 11 doe farm ;D)

Our weanlings are April 2024 babies, we wean at around 3.5 months and they will hit a hopefully high Christmas market 😆 the mamas were bred in October to have March/April babies. The April 2024 weanling does we keep will be bred at one year old (April 2025) for fall kidding.
