Hi! I really like this series and the swedish countryside you showcase in your videos. More so given that the attitude towards forestry in sweden can be summed up as: "let's exploit and make as much money as possible". I mean, what's wrong with just enjoying it as it is and treating it respectfully, like this video shows?
@biketouringnature2 күн бұрын
Thank you😀 I heard that Sweden now only have 6% old forest left. We complain about amazonas but we are much worse. The old forests is up in the mountains in the very north of Sweden. Have to go there before they cut those forests too.

Interesting stuff. Totally agree with you that multi-tools are not that great. Reaching certain screws on the bike tend to be awkward or impossible. I find it better to bring loose keys, and a compact screwdriver (you probably need only one anyway). If there's a mishap, having to fiddle with a big clunky multitool will only add to the frustration.

9:11 - That barking... The first time I heard it, I thought it was a bird and even looked up at the treetops. I actually have footage of it - quite comical! I've heard it at other times too, and it has even woken me up in the middle of the night. I've used a whistle to scare it off so I could go back to sleep in peace.
@biketouringnatureАй бұрын
Haha. So the whistle works? When I scream like them they keep going on.
@DatEbikeGuyАй бұрын
@@biketouringnature I can’t say it works every time, but in my case, it did, probably because the deer came very close to me. Since I sleep with earplugs and need complete silence-where even the rustling of trees can disturb my sleep-the barking was loud, sharp, and echoed. It was quite scary to be woken up from a deep sleep. I guess I was just desperate to make it stop!

I have earpluggs with me but just in case. I have never used them. Also tryed before to record the sound but they have been to far away for any good sound recording. I like they still hang around in the suburbs😀

That's exactly how I'd describe cycling in the rain: 'manageable, but not fun'. I guess that last year you toured during July. Here in Värmland, I recorded 24 days when it rained that month. That was the most I'd recorded for any month. That was followed by August with 25 days of rain! I got very lucky last summer during my six week tour, when the only day during late May and the whole of June that saw anything more than a few drops was the last day of June.

Around 7:45.... I couldn't see what was hanging from the trees but could it bee that the spring flood raised the river so much that it deposited a bunch of debree all the way up there? That's quite impressive. It must be at least 1.5 meters above the current level.
