Do these need to be permanently mounted in order to operate? I'm curious but I'm a company driver looking for a convenient option

Yes these are permanently mounted. Though if the trailer is taken out of service, ie sold, the unit is easily movable to a new trailer by just loosening a few bolts.

I installed one on my 20’ equipment trailer, power it from 12v battery on the trailer. I modified the mount myself. Terry a great knowledgeable guy and easy to contact 👍

In Europe, we just put the air suspension at max height, put the landing gear down in high speed hand crank, and return the truck to standard ride height. 😅🤪😉👌

Yes that is an option. However, many times here in the States, you will have different trucks pulling the same trailer and they may ride higher or much lower than the truck dropping the trailer off before. So there is a lot of cranking involved. Also, with our system, you can push the button and do your walk around safety check while it is working, thus not only saving time but also long term shoulder issues.

@@ezwinder1190 with a high volume low deck trailer behind a high chassis front wheel drive truck, youre going to smash the box off the trailer under a highway overpass, and vice versa, the landing gear will not retract far enough to get off the ground, so either situation will not happen. We just dont have a problem for your solution...

How will it handle road salt? Ny winter driving is hard on any wiring or electronics

Good question. We have run our system through 100hr salt spray with only hints of surface rust that wipes off parts that are chrome plated. All our brackets are powdercoated and the hardware used is either Stainless or Dacromat coated for high resistance to salt. Hi. I really need this. If the container trailed is on the floor. Can this machine able to wind it up?
