It is wonderful to hear coherently the valid reason I do NOT like the word ' favourite'. Within Daniel's answer to ' What is your favourite language? ' -- Last question from audience to Daniel Tammet.

Here is a way to see ourselves and our hope in truth. Please read: [WAY OF HOPE & PEACE John 3:16 For God so loved the world (all people), that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believes in him should not perish (condemned to hell), but have everlasting life. John 3:36 He that believes on the Son (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him. John 14:6 Jesus said to him (us), I am the way, the truth, and the life (eternal life): no man comes to the Father, but by me. Eph. 2:8-9 For by Grace (from God) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 1:13 In whom (Jesus) you also trusted, after that you heard the Word of truth, the gospel (I Cor. 15:1-4) of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Rom. 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom. 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:]

Although< I have interests in global economics I don't watch the news anymore... I have enough FUD. Thanks for this news and offering your insight on how to navigate during unfortunate times/events like this. You're right about keeping level headed when investing so that's why I think it's important to limit the amount of FUD we consume. I don't watch the media but the news that you present has enough to know issues going on without riding the emotional rollercoaster if I were to watch the news everyday. Now I buy and just trade long term more than ever, I have made over 17` btc from day trading with Joe Schmitt Signal in few weeks, this is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes bearish.... For crypto related issues Joe Schmitt can be reached on ͲeIєɠɾαm👉Schmittsignal.

just to clarify there cannot be more connections in the brain than there are atoms in the universe because each axon and dendrite requires atoms. It is the number of patters / structures which can be generated with those connections, which outnumber the atoms.

This got me going down a rabbit hole. You are correct, there are an estimated 10^20 connections in the brain and 10^80 atoms in the universe. But one way to state it correctly without changing the analogy much is there are more possible brain states than there are atoms in the universe.

How is he serving humanity???? He provides one of the greatest opportunities we’ve ever known to help us learn about our brains, about the mind and creativity… probably about more than we can currently imagine regarding how nature is structured, and our relationship to it. And if that’s not practical enough for you, don’t forget that knowledge of nature leads to all sorts of technology and medical innovations.

Wow, such an interesting person. It occured to me that autistic people are often thought of as having cold and hyper-rational personalities. Listening to Tammet suggests to me that the opposite might be true. That every thing in life for someone with autistm contains within it a wealth of emotional associations. That in fact the reason autistic people struggle so much to deal with the world, is due to intense and consistent levels of emotional stimulation. Perhaps autistic people are the true romantics?

I don't agree that when learning a language, that one has to learn more faster to have a more basic fundamental understanding to proceed. I do though agree that he is partly right, but that also at the same time, it has to be done at a very certain level, so it is not overwhelming. Being able to find the right gradient to learn at. I think that is why schools are generally failing, because everybody gets to learn at the same rate, while not dealing with the most basic stuff.

I think he meant to say "there are more connections in the brain than stars in the universe" which is the traditional meme... though even this is doubtful and would be more reasonable if it was qualified by "... in the visible universe"

In 2011, when I was 17, I read his books and became soo occupied by savants and autism. Tammet was the main subject in my bigger school project back then. I even wrote him an email (and got an answer from what I remember). I also didn't have the opportunity to make a power point presentation like all the other students did, therefore I created old school like posters for my presentation and one of them was a drawing of his visualization of the first decimals of Pi, or at least my interpretation of it (: a colourful landscape. studying him and his world gave me many afternoons full of curiosity, inspiration, placidity. Autism still is really close to my heart, so is synesthesia. Thank you Daniel for that..kind of invitation to such magical corner of our human dimension.
