This was my mom and dad's song. He was a combat medic in WW2.

October 2024, I've just turned 70 years young, and I'm here scrolling on You Tube and listening to the stars of yesterday and loving it. Wishing you a good life and happiness for the future. Never fully trust anybody who does not like music, it lifts the soul and renews life. 😂😂😂😂

My grandmother adored Nat King Cole. Talked about how kind and peaceful his face looked. It is true. I like to believe that his voice greets you in heaven. When I hear just these first 4 seconds of “ Chestnuts roasting on an open fire” The feeling I cant really describe. Maybe like snow just fell from heaven and I can smell pine and spruce trees instantly in those first 4 seconds. Keep your loved ones in your heart always and they will always be with you 🤍🪽🪽

I didn't watch your concerts because of you You sent me funerals knowing I had cancer. Everyone clapps l get nothing but funerals. While you bow and get adoration Good for you. While l get ⚰️ ⚰️ coffins and you accuse me of jealousy I liked your regular video B Ironic you were so depressed and didn't know what to. I did encourage you Noe l can't make myself watch one concert you can't blame for funerals ads or paper pants . How would you feel Hauser. You should be ashamed about all you did to me. Not one apology not anything but $ for a concert l wouldn't watch any way. Not even in my own country. Thank-you you for letting me know nothing not a word, not a voice. I wish you the best. But without me❤

So many on here commenting that this was either parents' or grandparents' most cherished song. And no wonder: You'd have to a complete souless moron not to feel the sheer beauty of the lyrics and the way Nat King Cole conveys them in this, one of the most sublime love songs ever written.

April 21, 2024. My 94 year old sweet mom passed today. During her last few hours, I played this song, and put my earplugs on her ears. I played this song repeatedly so she can hear it while she was crossing over. This beautiful song was her and my dad‘s theme song since their courtship days in the 1940s. I would like to believe that my dad, waiting for her in heaven, appeared and picked her up in this world as she was listening to their song. 💜🌸😢

My mom also lived to 94. She loved this mans voice too. I wish I had thought to play a song like this for her but she passed during covid and they were very strict about letting anyone in the hospital then. She didn't die of covid, she died of old age. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad you comforted her with beautiful music.

europe and usa voted at the end of last century that stardust was the most listened/liked song in 100 years. stardust changed the way music was played as it conatained syncopation, rather than common, usual rhythem. louisiana has contributed to so many forms of music that it was ironic that the lyrisist was from louisiana.
