I have not fired it I’m a ffl & I ordered this for a customer. I honestly hadn’t heard of them, no I wouldn’t recommend it for the same money you can get the Steven’s 301. I’m releasing a video on it later this week

@@600autogasandguns interesting maybe the laws have changed around the types of firearm that can be imported? It would be really cool for you Americans to be able to get Chinese ammo and guns down there (I'm a Canadian Firearms collector Chinese guns have never been banned up here) I'm not a huge fan of Chinese made guns unless they are military surplus but norinco ammo is surprisingly good stuff for steel cased ammo. That shot gun looks like a copy of the Henry slingshot shotguns/rifles

I’ve owned 5 or 6 different Jennings, bryco, or lorcin models in .22 .25 and .380 In my experience none of them ever functioned well. But I always found deals or trades that I would keep deciding to try. Something to note is that these companies are out of business now after multiple name changes and did get sued for valid safety concerns (and a few garbage suites but the guns did have safety problems) For a cheap reliable gun I would prefer a used Taurus G2/3 series or even some GX4s are good deals for not too much money

Buy one that works and then buy one that takes work. Learn how it works. Either is a great option for someone who wants to get into it. I go cheap and I go quality. In everything I buy, I get burned, I learn. And I find GEMS. Great video. Your videos are good. Thanks for posting.

The last time I went hunting it was a problem boar bear camping in a fresh cut canola field. I stalked to within about a hundred meters and using my old Lee Enfield No 4 sporter (factory peep sights) shot him through the back of the skull. So as to the question at hand, I defy the you can only pick one. Both have advantages. The Winchester 94 carries better but is harder to work on. The Marlin 336 is easy to work on but is significantly heavier. My 336 is from 1952 and with the waffle top reciever it isn't drilled for a scope but it was factory drilled for a peep sight, which it wears proudly. I have scoped rifles but some it just screws up the balance and aesthetics of the firearm.

Everything you stated is absolutely true, thank you for sharing your thoughts I appreciate it
@turtlewolfpack606124 күн бұрын
@600autogasandguns oddly enough, although they are the same basic firearm, the older Marlin 1893 often feels better balance than the 336. I have handled two or three of those and they always make me smile! The last one was in .32-40 and I should have bought it, full length tube and (I think) a 24" octagonal barrel.

All I can say is love yer way of thinking mounting a scope on a lever gun is a godforsaken thing to do
@600autogasandgunsАй бұрын
I agree, but every says if they had either one they would mount a scope on them lol
@ericbrabham3640Ай бұрын
I would take the 94 because I don't have one. I do have Marlins. I like both. I don't have scopes on my levers. I do have peep sights because of my aging eyes.
@mathewgoebel4078Ай бұрын
I'm a Marlin man myself they are built like a tank compared to the Winchester you'll see people as their eyes get older they don't trust their eyes with the iron sights getting blurry
@jackyanora8573Ай бұрын
I have 1 of each. I would never put a scope on a lever gun.
@600autogasandgunsАй бұрын
I agree
@Lure-BensonАй бұрын
Put a scope on a Marlin because of older age and eyes aren't the same as younger days. I have a Marlin 336 / 30-30 win made in 1947 I tapped and drilled for a scope base then mounted a Leupold 4x because at 64 years old the Iron sites are all fuzzy with my eyes. Then try to see a deer in morning just at start of light or just start of dark with open site yeah good luck with older eyes. The 4x scope looks into the dark then makes out the target. This guy just wait until he gets my age, he then will know what I mean.

I'm a Marlin fan. I do not mount scopes on my lever guns. The Marlin is superior imo because it functions perfect and is easy to maintain/repair. The Win 94 is hard to work on and 336 is much easier to repair upgrade. MH
@PassivePortfoliosАй бұрын
The Marlin 336 is a superior design in every way.

Open sights are becoming a lesser choice, even peep sights,,but true,,50-100,yards,,all you need is open sights,,unless your eye sight is bluring up,

I don't like a scope on a leaver action rifle. I like the cowboy 🤠 look. I have owned the Marlin and the Winchester. I loved both they were in the 30-30 caliber. Today I own 3 Henry leaver action rifles and I don't have a scope on eather one. They are 22cal, 22mag and a 30-30. I love leaver action rifles even though I do own bolt action rifles along with semi automatic rifles. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I like both for sure but Im with you I have several lever action rifles, and I don’t have an optic on any of them. For me a lever action is ment to be light, fast, and handy
