Foot should "duck" a little bit at rest. Straight forward is "abnormal".

So is a slight forward lean okay? I’ve always been told your torso has to be straight up and down and I’ve been trying to get it there for years but I can’t
@JustinMartinezCPT
@JustinMartinezCPT 4 ай бұрын
Yes, a slight forward lean is normal. Too much and you are at a higher risk of injury.

Can I use an electric massager with a ball attachment on those glute muscles instead of is it more about the stretch then putting pressure on them?

I do them with a hexbar and I love them. I sometimes do a suitcase carry as well, which I also enjoy.

I don't have a hex bar, so I just do them with 2 dumbells. I do them at the end after of a week's worth of exercising to finish off. To get in a final full body workout.

My squat is almost as bad as your exaggerated example, basically looking at the floor. I'm a 25 y/o male who should be in my prime. I was going to start a beginner workout routine, but i need to fix my form first. I'll get that equipment and get at it. I'll update you in a few weeks with my progress. Thanks Jason Bourne!

Day 1: the foam rolling and stretches aren't too bad after a little practice. The strengthening exercises are tough though. Half my body is shaking trying to keep my form right. I'm doing 2 days on, 1 off, so I'll be watching this again tomorrow

Appreciate this video! What do you think is the main goal for people who had their upper legs/hips externally rotated? Should we focus on strengthening, stretching or mobilizing the hip external rotator?

Why would the bicep activate when it's not contracting - neither to lift or restricting the downward motion? The biceps doesn't straighten the arm.
@JustinMartinezCPT
@JustinMartinezCPT 10 ай бұрын
The biceps brachii will activate for elbow and shoulder flexion as well as isometrically stabilizing the elbow and shoulder girdle. This happens during a push-up though the biceps are not the prime mover. Even though you may not actively be trying to stimulate the biceps like you would a curl, muscles will still be called to action for other purposes like stabilizing or synergistically assisting the movement. Hope that answers your question!

Hey. I wanted to ask if there are any structural defects that may cause duck feet. Because my right leg is the one that has the problem. The knees face straight but the rest of the leg below the knee is rotated outwards. I wanted to know if there are any permanent conditions that may cause it or if it may be fixed by physical therapy alone

@qcawley

Great video thank you! Question: when the hip external rotators are at fault, do you think a piriformis foam roll and 90/90 hip stretch are good options as well as remedies?
@JustinMartinezCPT
@JustinMartinezCPT Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, those would also be good options to make the hip external rotators more supple.

I'm taking kinesiology right now in which I took a test that included a question that read, "Which of the following exercises is not an example of a closed chain activity" and the choices were " all of the above are examples of closed chain activities, heel raise, push up, leg press." I chose leg press like how this video says that seated leg press is an open chain activity, but she said this was incorrect and that it was a closed chain activity. I don't understand because I am getting different answers from multiple sources. Do you think you could clear this up for me?

This is absolutely amazing I am only 19 years old but I gave birth when I was 17 and honestly it messed my body up, I started working out recently and my husband mentioned how I need to straighten my back when I'm doing squats and I was super confused I didn't know I was leaning so far forward! It literally felt impossible to do an actual squat without leaning. This video is helping a ton ❤ thank you!!!
