Please understand framerates. The DVD footage you used was probably PAL 30fps. The UMD is probably 24fps. Your DVD is the one that is wrong. Next time compare it with Bluray. As bluray's have the correct framerates and don't suffer the DVD speed up issues due to the old PAL/NTSC issues.

I’d be more interested to see how the graphics compare to running the PS2 game on a backwards compatible PS3 captured with HDMI vs the PS4 version. The PS2 footage here was clearly captured with an analog composite device to make the comparison more different between the two.

The PS4 graphicsa look just like what i emulate on PCSX2 and you know that means its good. most likely uses an emulation itself inside the ps4 very well done on there part just wish theyd release something like that on the PS4 as a base game on steam of all the original ace ombat PS2 era games. itd make us AC fans alot happier doesnt have to be a remake just a very accesible one and we dopnt have to jump koops to emulate it.

If you compare then please use the best cable possible. PS2 version looks as clear as PS4 (but with lover resolution) if you use RGB cable instead composite or S-video.

This part really highlights why I dislike Code Veronica so much. The homophobia and transphobia directed towards Alfred's crossdressing is disgusting enough on its own. Then you take into account the simply grotesque stigma that is directed towards mental health issues, especially dissociative identity disorder (DID). At best RE: CV is painting trans women and/or cross dressers as dangerous and mentally unstable and at worst it's doing so for people with DID. Then you have Steve, who is a Nice Guy™. He refuses to open up to Claire at all but still expects her to be instantly romantically and/or sexually interested in him. He tries to kiss her while she's asleep and can't consent, brings her in for a non-consensual hug after she jumps out of the plane. Meanwhile he acts like an entitled brat the entire time and the game frames all of this, all of it, as cutesy and romantic. The unconscious kiss especially feels stomach retching. All of this is a shame because the story around the Ashford legacy, cloned children and connections with Umbrella's origins are brilliant. The locations as well as amazing in this game. Seeing Chris and Claire together is a highlight of not just this game but the series as a whole. If any Resident Evil NEEDS a remake, it's Code Veronica. Iron out all that toxic bullshit and lean into how Chris and Claire's relationship mirrors Alfred and Alexia's one and you would have an amazing game!
