This is exactly why we don’t install in-suite initiating devices. Too much possibility for false alarms. Most apartments are protected by standalone smokes and sprinklers with devices in the halls tied to the main system.

@@rcat110 what do you mean it wolld confuse them? A message that wools say “May I have your attention please, a fire has been reported in the building. Please leave the building by the nearest exit. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS!” Is about as straightforward as you can get

You're ain't just whistling Dixie the Walmart I worked at for almost 6 years as a cashier had the ceiling mount advances and they were on high volume if you think they are powerful out in the open you should hear them inside the store UGH

I live near a retirement home and this is a daily occurrence. Though l’m 2 blocks away, I can’t hear the alarms, but I can hear the firetrucks when they pass by. It’s always 2 or 3 firetrucks at a time too.

I got something worse then this mechanical horns they can go over 100 db most are 75 or 85 db and they sound like a train horn or semi horn worse coding is continuous not so bad ones are code 4 4 code 4 4 4 4 code 3 and March time all these codings are old school. And I have seen white p2rs once most I see is 4903s and 9838s or wheelock zns or as or even the ceiling mounted version of the p2r

It might be because a fly went into a smoke alarm and caused a mechanical issue and sounded the fire alarm on Monday. So that’s probably why the fire alarm is going off.

This is actually a Siemens. I don't know why they do this, but I have seen Siemens sort of rebrand Wheelock products. Like the one in this video, if you look closely, the sticker actualy says Siemens and I call this a 'Siemens Wheelock AS'. I have also seen them rebrand other Wheelock alarms such as the Wheelock ZNS. The thing is that these systems are very common and a lot of times I walk into a building and think it's a Wheelock system, but after closer inspection it's a Siemens system.

@@rcat110 Yeah it's definitely a Siemens Rebrand, the Strobe flashes differently than the Wheelocks, it flashes the same time the horn goes off during Code 3, while on Wheelocks it's the opposite, they flash after the horn pauses every second during Code 3
