Another question is what is the quality of the extra virgin olive oil if they put it in plastic green bottles? It’d be so easy to purchase because it’s not glass. I think though? that most of these are not the highest quality evo’s?
@lindsaycotter
@lindsaycotter 3 ай бұрын
I agree. Glass containers preserve the oil better. Glass is non-reactive, eco-friendly, and protects olive oil from UV exposure

I would sure like more detailed information about the extra light and classic and pure olive oils. It seems to be a mystery and I almost think no one wants to come clean about the exact health and nutrition in these lesser olive oils? I want to understand what I’m using if I would choose to use a light olive oil?
@lindsaycotter
@lindsaycotter 3 ай бұрын
I totally understand and I go into detail about that here. www.cottercrunch.com/olive-oil-health-benefits/ but to sum, Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and regular olive oil differ in how they are extracted and processed, as well as in their flavor, color, and smoke point: EVOO is cold pressed with low heat index and more bold flavor. Light or pure olive oil are lightly heat extracted (depends on the brand) and have a neutral flavor and higher heat index, so you can use it in baking/frying.

@lindsaycotter
@lindsaycotter 7 ай бұрын
you can but it might not be as flavorful. I'd adjust the seasonings if you use water. It keeps well in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 1 month.
