I had just started school at this time. I recall only vaguely his early years on the radio. 10 years later I knew who he was, and his films, but there was newer stuff. 10 years later I realised what a talent he was.

My grandmother and my great grandmother were obsessed with Elvis. They would dance in the kitchen to his music and they would say “Oh Elvis we love you!!!” No I give credit where credit is due. When Elvis was young he was a bad motherfucker. He was vicious. He was singing his ass off. He was singing until the day died too. For those of you who live back then do you remember 1977 Elvis 42 years old the day before he croaked. His stomach was all fat, and he looked like he had to crap when he was walking on the stage. What a man. Elvis lives!!!

I believe the actual audio used here is the 1960 remake he recorded for the soundtrack album of GI Blues (he needed to redo it so they had a stereo recording to work with). That said the timing works out nearly identical to the original so it pretty much syncs with the film.
