You have made your thoughts clear in your explanation of what you believe. Very good. Its hard to accept though because this view means that God choses some before the foundation of the world but has already rejected others? Thats hard to accept and makes me really sad.

I understand, but it makes your salvation that much sweeter! Romans 9:9-21 is a must read on this topic. Paul writes to the Romans about how before they were born, God chose Jacob but hated Esau. Paul assumes they would ask the question, "How can God find fault? Who can resist God's will?" Here is Paul's response to that question: "On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, 'Why did you make me like this,' will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use?" This is a great chapter to pray and study over. Blessings!

Thank you for this. I’ve had three dreams of my ascending mountains over the past few months; two of them in the last month. In the first dream I turned back because of the height. In the second dream, I approached the top and someone had to pull me up because of my fear/inexperience/shakiness. The third dream I was still nervous but I made it up on my own.

This ministry is a Blessing! The Lord Jesus Christ Saves... Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
@weobeyjesus45655 жыл бұрын
I interpret it a different way. I see 'justified by works' as meaning justified by works alone and when he shows Abraham had an amount of righteousness accounted he proved it was not by works alone but by grace. He then went on to show that the promise given to Abraham cannot be fulfilled by the Mosaic Law and Christianity is a potential fulfillment of it because it justifies by grace and justifies all nations but Mosaic Law does neither of those things, those under the Law who obeyed (2;13) were justified not by the deeds of the law but by forgiveness because all have sinned (3;23). It is definitely a tricky passage. Romans 2 is more simple.

Who do you believe the first husband is in the first part of chapter 7?
@sarahruff35956 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe it is speaking of anyone in particular. Paul uses the marriage between a man and a woman as an analogy to show the relationship between Jew and the Old Testament law. Just like a woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives, but if he dies then she is free to marry another man. The Jews were also bound to the law but through their death in Christ they too are free from the law to belong to another - Christ. Always interested in your thoughts.
@Romans7man6 жыл бұрын
Romans 7 is the apostle Paul referring to his lost state before he became a Christian.
@sarahruff35956 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe so. He is describing life under the law void of the Holy Spirit. He says in verse Rom. 7:18 that he has a desire to do good , but there is no ability to do it. In verse 24 he says, "Who will rescue him from this body of death?" Chapter 7 is not describing a life being led by the Holy Spirit which brings life, but it describes a life enslaved to sin which brings death. Chapter 8 explains what life looks like being filled with the Spirit. Hope this helps.
