Where can I purchase the truss rod adjustment tool. I found a kit on Amazon for adjusting the Martin truss rod. It includes the 5mm tool and feeler gauge. Will that work?
@wildflowerguitarco.324623 күн бұрын
Yeah that should work. I got one of the same things from Amazon. Instead of coming with the feeler gauges mine came with a second Alan wrench. It was either a 4mm or 4.5mm

Do u have any recommendations for a kind of electric guitar I should buy ?
@wildflowerguitarco.3246Ай бұрын
I would be glad to try and point you in the right direction. It would depend heavily on where you are in your guitar learning journey and what kind of sound you’re going for. Also what kind of music you are wanting to play. If you can tell me that, I can give you some suggestions!

This guitar is very simular to my 1903 Lyon and Healey. Notice the dotted 10th fret. I also see a binder sound hole. That was common on a lot of Hawain style guitars
@wildflowerguitarco.32462 ай бұрын
Awesome! I’ll have to do some more research on those. The customer didn’t know much about it, just that it had belonged to one of his family members. I would love to be able to get some more information to him about it. Thanks for the comment!
What is the name (or formula?) of your 'cleaning solution'..?
@wildflowerguitarco.32462 ай бұрын
It’s a little thing I like to call distilled white vinegar haha. Cuts the grime and dust. It’s easy on your finish (in moderation.) And best of all no chemicals. I always dab the corner of a rag in the vinegar to use, and follow up with the dry part of the rag to get any excess off.

i love these old parlor guitars one day ill restore one for myself
@wildflowerguitarco.32462 ай бұрын
I do too! Or any old catalog guitar for that matter!
For this guitar I wet the corner of my microfiber cloth in plain white distilled vinegar. Wiping it down and scrubbing it, then going back over it with the dry part of the rag, not letting it saturate into the wood. It cuts the dust away, without using chemicals on such an old finish.

@wildflowerguitarco.32462 ай бұрын
Thank you! Sorry for the late response, I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus. Yes the action can be adjusted on these. Sometimes a truss rod adjustment can lower the action on them. If not, you can lower the action by removing material from the bottom of the bone that sits in the saddle.

I have a quick tip for you that you may already know but I have found it’s really easy and no fun to break the heads off of those small tuner screws and other really small screws. Dip the threads in some kind of wax before you put them in for the first time. Any kind of wax will do and it will save you having to get the broken screw out of the hole when the head breaks off.

Nice guitar nice sounds. Have you considered getting rid of the pick guard or using a clear pick guard ? The wood is so so nice and half is covered by by a plan pick guard. This would need the components on the back. I thinking of a PRS style guitar front with the glorious wood showing though.

I also love seeing finish applied in these videos... there’s just something really satisfying about seeing that plank finished. I also would like to see what filler/methods you used dealing with the knot near the comfort carve.
