If we can't be faithful to obey in the simple or small things... 😢😮

Good point about Jesus knowing the future and didn't limit His knowledge.

The only greater shame than the crucifixion of God's only begotten sinless Son is rejection of His perfect gift to us. We curse Him by trying to merit or pay for what He has already completely and perfectly paid in full. Religions of the world say pay. Jesus said, "Payed in full"

The enemy has tricked us and is in our homes through the media. Romans 12 says we need renewed minds. Recognition and repentance of oursins, faithfulness to obey, willingness to worship daily, thankfulness for all He's done will purify us and brings us back through His Spirit. Thank you for that reminder! Blessings 🙌

I remember one of the old writers, James Stewart of Scotland in one of his books, "The Strong Name" talks about the contrasts of Jesus being Meek and powerful at the same time. Amazing God!!

Good word! I especially liked what you said about funerals. I agree. Don't cart my body around, but I want a memorial service. Even the rich man who didn't go to heaven asked for the Gospel to be preached to his family so they wouldn't come spend eternity with him separated from God in heaven.

So true, He laid down His life and at the same time still held those responsible accountable. They understood that at Peter's preaching on the day of Pentecost. Then, many realized their guilt and repented. Saul, the persecutor of the early Christians and churches, learned that on the road to Damascus and shared that testimony of repentance and faith to the unbelievers who had not yet heard. Good thoughts! Thanks for sharing.

I like that discussion of the "trilema" by CS Lewis, "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

Q: If one can't lose their salvation, wouldn't that mean that there might be people in Heaven that don't wish to be? I mean ... If a truly saved person turns from the faith and becomes an opponent of Christianity, would they still be in the Kingdom? It almost says that free will is gone once born again. Am I missing something? I assure you this is a genuine question and not a gotcha set up or troll question. I've really gone back and forth on this a very long time. I usually get a standard "well, they were never REALLY saved in the first place" response, but that seems like a cop out answer. Thank you for any insight.
@pastorteer586311 ай бұрын
I think we can say with some certainty that if the person was saved to begin with and they walked away from the faith, but ended up in heaven they would be happier to be there than in Hell where they would burn for eternity. If you have done this,my prayer is that you will repent and return to Him. Began to read His Word and grow in faith. Thank you.

Excellent explanation and encouragement. He's ready to forgive are we ready to be forgiven? I have heard it said God loves us just but he loves us too much to leave us the way we are.
@youthwake Жыл бұрын
I think you hit the nail on the head when you talked about guilt from sin that keeps us from having a personal deep relationship with our Father. How many people are allowing guilt to keep them their Father who has already forgiven and is waiting with outstretched arms for His children's return? 2corinthians 7:10 teaches that he not only removes the sin but also the guilt of sin! That has been an important part of me being able to get up after I fall, and I fall often. My Father's love has not changed for me nor should mine change for Him. Keep coming back to the Father. He's right where we left Him. I've heard it said that he loves us just the way we are but too much to leave us that way. Let us return to the Father today!

I think it was Oswald Chambers that said, "one of the tests for determining if the work of salvation is genuine is -- has God changed the things that really matter to you? If you are born again, the Spirit of God makes the change very evident in your life and thought. It is this complete an amazing change that is the very evident that you are saved.". We know that there is an even more amazing change and that is that his Holy Spirit comes to live inside of every believer to seal their soul for eternity. Thank you for sharing these encouraging lessons from His word!

Good point! The greatest believers are the greatest servants. How are believers serving greatly today? How are we serving greatly? When the world thinks of the best servants do they think about our church members, our family, our kids,, me? Powerful message that I pray he will empower us to live out! I like the point you made about having a hard heart. We don't get things the first time and should have patients on others who don't. Growth in the scriptures takes time and you made another good point about the shock they were in from John the Baptist death. Some people have been hurt thanking God was going to do things a certain way and when he doesn't it causes them some confusion. They need to stick with it and work through it as we all have had to do.

It's so true that we don't have all knowledge the minute we are saved (still lots to know). We have so much growing to do in our faith and understanding of the scriptures. I'm sure my twenty-year-old self wouldn't agree with my 40 year old self and visa versa. I'm still learning.
