I grew up in Cash Valley from '62 to '78, about a half mile down the rd from Helmstetter's. YES, there WERE double tracks all the way up the grade to Frostburg 'til sometime in the early 50's .. from there to Connellsville, I'm not sure. I think you have captured the time period, and detail of the farm very well. WM power would've been cool to see, but I understand .. thanks for posting.

that must have taken meny years to make that train layout lots of patience and chicken wire styrofoam plaster of Paris beaded cardboard mountain hand made red wood tree that I would make for golden gate model railway founder William Woody until the rights to me are sold !

It must scare the passengers to look out the window and see these big giants gawking at them as they go by. I was trying to be funny but I think I bombed. Great layout.

Not being familiar with this area I can offer no suggestions. What I can say is I just viewed a wonderfully detailed and picturesque railway. The narration and sound effects are excellent. A class job by all who pulled this together.

How do the get a camera on a model train
@BertieW0oster9 жыл бұрын
You should record an uncut video of the whole line from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, it would be fun to take a cab ride across the whole layout!

Geoff A, "naked" meaning it's not enclosed inside a train or car shell to hide it, the camera is just sitting out in the open.

I was just getting ready to tell how much I enjoyed the railroad sounds. On my computer they were excellent. What is different about your computer's sound system?

Really beautiful modeling, gentlemen. Outstanding scenery. You have truly captured that site on the =WM=. Okay, a reply below indicates you're looking for feedback, so here we go: The motive power and cabooses need to be =WM= equipment!! The =WM= utilized US&S model R-2 automatic block and interlocking plant signals. Excellent models of these are available from Oregon Rail. Perhaps that crossbuck at the grade crossing could be energized. The train speeds might be a tad fast. Once again, this is superb, inspiring model railroading. I enjoyed the dubbed-in prototype sounds, too. And fine narration. Many thanks for posting.

David Hughes Thank you for watching. While you are correct that in the real world Helmstetter's curve is on the WM, however we are using a little "freelance reality" in that we've added our own 'Mon-Valley' system into the mix. This allows us to cheat history a little (double tracking in places that never were, etc) to make our life a little easier.

OK, sounds like a plan for a railroad fan (like me) day trip for Spring or Summer 2015. How far off Route 22 West is Gibsonia? Is this not also the home of the East Broad Top Railroad?
@wpmrm10 жыл бұрын
we're not very close to rt 22. the best land mark would be the Butler valley exit on the turn pike if that helps... also we are only open for the holiday season. this year our last day is Jan 11 2015.
