no 'ukraine' existed till 1991... it was called Malorussia back in 18th century and Cossacks had nothing to do with polonized Galicians from Lwow/ core of so-called 'ukranian nation' (abomi-natio) created by Austrias/Germans.

Cossacks are a very interesting part of the history of Eastern Europe. It all started with that the villagers, trying to hide from the tyranny of the landowners, fled to the wild steppes of the south of modern Ukraine, and in the end everything grew into one of the most powerful and combat-ready troops in Europe of its time. It’s just a pity that many people, especially in the USA and Western Europe, confuse Ukrainian Cossacks with Russian Don Cossacks, although they have almost nothing in common with each other.

Unfortunately, what the history revisionists feed you comes out of you. The stench of fascist Europe and neo-Nazi propaganda can be felt far away. Cossacks were and remain part of the Russian people. False communists and socialists have created new Nazis who destroy everything that belongs to another ethnic group. (Are you since 1922 new-naci?) + Are you suggesting that children should be treated the way it is said in the Bible regarding parental sin? -> But if the sin is an inheritance, then it should be acknowledged, and the victim should be repaid (if someone survived) by helping her to be herself in her own way on her own land.

Ironic that the Z-invasion has just made Ukrainians even more proud to be Ukrainian, has caused many Ukrainians to switch from speaking Russian to Ukrainian, and has brought worldwide attention to Russian genocide of Ukrainians. I did not grow up speaking Ukrainian, but I am looking for a way to have my children learn it.

For me it has nothing to do with Ukraine, but mit Russia, in fact mit der tzar- Russia. Solohov has a novel " Tihi Don" where he wrote about it. Very nice and famous novel. It is well known that the Kosacs ( from Zaporozje, Zaporosci ) faught against mongol tribes on russian side. Ukrajine has origin after WWII ( I think that Hruscov made an act of declaration ).

Yes, but a lot of zaporozhian cossacks immigrated to current russian territories. Zaporozhian cossacks from chernigovskyj regiment immigrated to south of voronezh region and created slobozhanschyna (name for territory of kharkov, part of sumy, part of lugansk, south of voronezh region, belgorod region, part of kursk region). Also the rest of zaporozhian cossacks in 18th century immigrated to kuban and created kubanskoje kozachje vojsko.

Just make sure that all people in Ukraine understand what happened in 1734. That was the first time Russia truly betrayed when it took away right for cossack nation to elect its own leaders. Thatbis why Ukraine is so important to European history. We here up north certainly before or after 1734 could chose our own leaders like the free men of Ukraine did.
