Replacing them with aiming servos would greatly decrease the ships' performance and would make plays not as effective.

They would actually ruin ship performance. Turrets turn slower than the camera and having it on would mess up some plays.

I feel like it would negatively impact the performance on ships. Also, guns turn slower than the camera sensitivity.

How are you able to make the ships so big and detailed? When I try, it's one or the other

It's hard, I build front to back just with the main superstructure and weapons, and then I go add small details. If I need complexity, I'll get rid of some small details or unnoticeable blocks
