I wonder if my magnetic pieces would still snap to the map with the metal sheet I have on my table. Are you able to bend the material slightly to tuck it into my table? I have my map sunk in a bit and the IPC tracker kinda overhangs a tad for my lighting. Am curious if I could get in my table without causing a permanent crease.
@mdt2608 ай бұрын
@@Lt.Dan.. Thanks Dan! The material does have some bend to it. I believe you could even go a tad thinner (say 0.02 inch) and it would have even more bend. It's not nearly as rollable as a thin vinyl type material, but even my 0.03 inch thick material can be rolled up into a roll about 12 inches in diameter.

Just so everyone who uses following knows, our side has lost 5 games in a row against the team that has an avid chess player on it. Also, one has a doctorate in old and Middle English and philology, it’s no fun playing against them, so this game we are playing scorched earth.

Why didn't that Russian stack move back to take Moscow? It doesn't look like the Axis have enough troops in Russia to stop them, & certainly not enough production to make up the difference .
@mdt2609 ай бұрын
Good question - my guess is that they chose to take their chances in attacking Berlin, given it would have taken them 4 turns to turn around and march back to Moscow, as those infantry can only move 1 space per turn. Also, if they had done that, the Germans would have 4 turns to reposition themselves with any fast movers (tanks and mechs) as well as air power, and purchases built in the Moscow, Stalingrad and Ukraine factories to fortify Moscow. Bottom line is I think the Soviets were hoping to get lucky in Berlin (obviously they didn't).

You can find the website of the Monastery here - www.stmarysmonastery.org/ I know they are planning to play a BBR game next (BBR is a well developed set of house rules otherwise based on Axis and Allies 1940). You could always ask if they'd be interested in other games, such as Warhammer 40k. The monk you may want to contact in particular is Br. Hi there, thanks for the video! I want to know this, i have the whole BBR 1 package here at home (The deck of card, the whole thing!) but not played much since Covid. Is my version (Field Manual 2.9.1) too outdated or i could use this map without issue?
@mdt26010 ай бұрын
Good question! If the map you have is a BBR2 map, there are actually some significant changes in the map, from V2 to V3 (around SZ91, and territories in North Africa, especially). There additional changes in the map as you go from V3 to V4, and then some minor changes going from V4 to V5. There are no map changes from V5 to V6 (the current version). The changes to the card deck are similar - changes did occur from one version to the next. Same with the rulebook - there are changes from one version to the next. Any of the BBR versions are fully playable on their own, no problem at all. That said, most people are playing versions 4, 5, or especially 6. After the current Monks game I'm following on my channel, the plan is to play a BBR5 game. Hope all that helps!
