Absolutely beautiful work! I'm doing a full resto on a 1928 AA/6 Oakland Landau Coupe and I'm just down the road from you in Kanab. I'd love to head up to Richfield one day and check out the work you've done, likewise you're invited to my workshop any time to check out what I'm working on. I wish this one I'm working on was mine, I'm doing the restoration on it for some great friends. I'm getting attached to it!

Nobody shows about if a lightning ground should be used or how to put one in. Easy to swap out, but is your expensive TV safe?
@mikeparsons52346 жыл бұрын
We have installed lots of outdoor TV antenna setups on roof tops and we never install lightning grounds and I haven't seen any problems whatsoever...
@rickbodi59446 жыл бұрын
Mike Parsons , thanks for replying, just trying to get the most information before putting mine up. Thanks

Mike Parsons, plus I live in the Midwest with lots of lightning strike's.
@mikeparsons52346 жыл бұрын
We are based in Utah so we don't get a lot of lightning but still haven't had an issue. You can put it in your attic as long as you don't have a metal roof.
@rickbodi59446 жыл бұрын
Mike Parsons , that's part of my problem, I live in a mobile home and was planning on mounting the old satellite bracket to a wood porch post. Got a connector grounding block that I was planning to ground to house frame rails, because it is grounded through the electrical circuit that has a lightning rod ground. Didn't know if that was enough or needed separate rod. So expensive TV doesn't blow from a strike.

Cool but why not UHF and VHF type antenna why just UHF am I missing something?
@mikeparsons52346 жыл бұрын
The tv signals broadcasting in this area is UHF only. VHF type antenna is not needed in this area....

I gotcha, thanks for the reply. Good video. I bought an uhfvhf and fm combo, but i really dont know what the diff is , trying to learn here. thanks man.
@nickv40735 жыл бұрын
Whether you need it or not depends on how far away you are. I have this antenna and it still picks up two VHF channels in my area that are 20 miles away.
@cryptoslime2096 жыл бұрын
Go higher!!
@mikeparsons52346 жыл бұрын
In this situation there is no need to go higher with the antenna. The Transmit site is line of site to the house and the location of this antenna works perfect. Thanks for watching!
@JodBronson5 жыл бұрын
@CryptoSlime - It all depend. In my area, the higher I go the worst it gets. Funny thing is... My Antenna worked better 1 Foot off of my Floor. Yup you heard it right! 1 Foot, of off my Floor!

How can I get my antenna & internet on the same coax if my house is prewired? My Comcast modem won’t go online now. 😕
@mikeparsons52346 жыл бұрын
Over the air TV broad cast and internet are two totally seperate systems. There is no way to have over the air TV (Antenna) and internet in the same coax. You need to run a seperate cable. One for TV and one for internet.

That is not a good idea to put it under the roof because if it snows were you live it could damage the antenna or your edge of your roof could break
@mikeparsons52347 жыл бұрын
We decided to use the dish bracket that was already in place plus the coax cable was already right there so that was the best location. We have installed many antennas in locations similar to that one and snow has had no problem at all with it.
