Since this was made, film has seen a huge resurgence. Kodak have brought back Ektachrome in 35 and 120 which is fantastic. The problem is that there are no new film cameras so as things stand, film will survive till all the cameras have died.

I just got a roll of slide film developed this week and that is three and a half years after this video came out. Eventually there will probably be not any slide film or film at all because as the 35mm and 120 cameras die out, there will not be any cameras that use them. Leica and Nikon still sell their top of the line cameras, and of course 4x5 and other LF cameras will be able to use film. I expect film will end in about the year 2060. I'll be about 107 then and will have taken a picture of every thing worth shooting so I won't care.

Bull shit! Slide is far from dead. In fact Kodak is relaunching one of their old types in a month. It's only in technologically backwards places like Cape Town where there isn't resources for luxuries like this. But yeah. Make your own setup if it means a lot. It's not that difficult! E6 was introduced exactly to simplify slide processing.
