Il soprano cantava bene il tenore una miseria quasi stonato...lorchestra insomma...una representazione molto locale!!

From the first Santo, a wobble so wide you could drive a truck through it and several shrieks rather than singing on the high notes. :Low notes sound like a mama grizzly bear protecting her cubs and if there is any legato phrasing here it is hidden in a cloud of ugly.

Den Vergleich mit der Aufnahme von 1990 aus der Scala mit Studer, Ramey, Zancanaro und Kaludov kann man nur verlieren! Diese Aufnahme zu hören, schmerzt schon etwas. Einzig dem Tenor Sung Kyu Park kann ich hier etwas abgewinnen.

Having seen Cheryl Studer at La Scala singing Odabella (on KZbin now) poor Dimitra Theodossiou here just pales into insignificance. All the bravura, blood and guts of Studer's Odabella was missing in this production. Madame Theodossiou should have declined this role, in my humble opinion.

Die Interpreten bis auf dem Chor beinahe alle am Anschlag. So ganz unschuldig ist auch der Maestro nicht. Da gibt es sehr viel besseres, wenn ich an die Produktion Lamberto Gardellis denke: Raimondi, Deutekom, Milnes, Bergonzi - das sind andere Kaliber - ja - Studioaufnahmen - aber in Sachen Intonation keine Blössen wie hier. . .

Quanti anni ha la Cantante Protagonista? La Voce sembra anziana... Tra l' altro mi sembra più un mezzo soprano che un vero lirico... La Luce sul Palco poi avevano paura di sprecarla? Trattasi di un Foyer, non di un cimitero...mancano solo i lumini tombali...

Comprendiamo l'esiguita' dei mezzi materiali, ma lo spettacolo e' brutto assai. Strehler con due tacchie di legno e tre pezzi stoffa e due proiettori....le liane...sembra Canzonissima delle ultime produzioni, quelle brutte..Festival di San Remo...studiate registi, siete tutti improvvisati e male, e ricordatevi che per le mani non avete la Callas o Corelli, colate a picco subito. La Theodossiu sta' al Massimo di Catania come Joan Sutherland stava al Covent Garden ma con una "certa differenza"...mio Dio per carita'.

Meravigliosa edizione, avevo solo 15 anni ma la ricordo come se fosse oggi. Ci fu una ripresa della stessa regia direi nel 2001 o 2002, se ricordo bene con Rinaldo Alessandrini ed una grandissima Sonia Prina nel ruolo di Ottone.

Makvala Kasrashvili: magnificent and great "Vissi d'arte", far better than the other "dive"! At such a ripe age (if I may), it's even more amazing! Splendid artist! Bravissima. Irina Lungu is also splendid as a lirico d'agilità, with a voice of great tonal beauty, character and elegant line, easy top notes (and good looks to match!) Her Violetta and Thaïs here (those fabulous high-D's are so easy and resounding!) Congratulations!

she sang a great deal of acutissimo in her career; this was her last years before retirement and one of the hardest soprano roles in the Verdian repertoir; have some respect

Mi spiace contraddirla ma vedo che la lirica non è il suo forte. Carmelo Corrado Caruso alias Ezio in Attila non è l'ultimo arrivato. Nessun cantante lirico è esente da trascorsi di serate out, ma non per questo vanno crocifissi, come in tutti i lavori.
