These people are generally athletic their whole life. Even if TRT replacement is used, it's still not "steroids". The normal range of free T is between 350 and 1000. The average male at 60 is around 150-450. TRT would merely make them normal, so it could never be performance enhancing. It just allows for them to perform normally. There is a massive misunderstanding of TRT and anabolic steroids. It would be like accusing a Type I diabetic or performance enhancing, because they use insulin. Multiple metabolic pathways significantly decline with aging.

11.45 when I was 15. I was built like a whippet, too. I don't think I could manage it in less than 16 seconds now.

⁠@gary1961…I think people focus on World and Olympic records… your 11.45 places you in the top 3 to 4 % of the entire human population. There are very few humans running that fast… it’s quite an accomplishment.

Take great care of yourself, stay active and you will be. Also, discipline your thoughts about yourself, your body, and your health, and when you make it to see 60 you'll be just fine! Back when I was 30, I ran 400m in 1:04. I came up third in that race, running against students who were 5 or more years younger. Yet, that time would only earn me the next to last position in this race ... against people who are 60! Needless to say: massive respect for these folks. I also feel a bit depressed now. 😕

Thanks for the kind words Dave … in the masters events the larger competitions have heats but generally there’s a A and B final seeded on PB if there’s less than 16 athletes in the competition.

Nice race,Stuart! Love the commentary here.Such quality! I didn't know you were so fast!Congratulations on breaking 60 seconds for 400 metres! Were there prelims and semi-finals? Masters and Seniors Track in Britain has such high quality.I'm humbled.Bravo!
