1752 Alweld Mud Hull. It’s a short transom and I run the shorter Backwater frame. Much easier to drive and maneuver. The motor is like a big lever. The further way the prop is from the transom, the more effort is required to turn the motor.
@austinmoorman1303 Жыл бұрын

Learn about open loop, closed loop with your computer system..... at start up it’s in open loop which means it doesn’t read the O2 sensors...until they warm up and goes into closed loop, where the computer makes adjustments based on O2 sensor readings...

Debating between this and the 10 for my 1240 (and even eyeing the ultra-lite). 90% sure I'm hitting the 6.5 because like you, I'm not concerned with speed so much as accessibility (and we've got hella weeds/marsh here). That said, how do you feel about the power on it? Ever wish you have a bit more or has it been solid?
@fracabby3 жыл бұрын
I actually have a 10hp too. Picked it up toward the end of last season. 6.5 is fine but the 10 is very nice. Depends on how much the extra $400 means to you.

@@fracabby If it's the difference between getting bogged down in the weeds alone in the dark vs. plowing through them, that seems like money well spent lol. Mind you, 10 is my boat's max, so I'm sure it's overkill... which is par for the course.

Did you do anything special to break the motor in when you first started running it?
@fracabby3 жыл бұрын
No. Fill it with T4 Rotella and 93 octane non-ethanol fuel if it’s available to you. Do the break-in oil change at 5-10 hours then change the oil and adjust the valves every 50 hours or so. That may be overkill but oil and filters are relatively cheap compared to a new motor.
