@@airstreamexpeditions1 February would be too cold for me! I'll always remember Jalama Beach for the first time I ever saw the Milky Way in person. It was a sight to behold! Also, the problem with the beach front spots are that people will walk through to get to the beach. One night, someone actually drove in early in the morning and just parked between another camper and us! We stopped camping on California coast line anymore. Just too many people now. We either head for the mountains or the desert, and even that is getting crowded. Nice Airstream BTW!

Hi, thank you very much for supporting our channel, it means a great deal to us. I’m glad this video has inspired you to plan your own trip to Baja, it’s a beautiful place and we love it. Erica and I travel there at the bare minimum once per year. Mom was born in Baja so I’m pretty familiar with the area. I’ve received many inquiries such as yours and I’m thinking of putting together a video about traveling to Baja, how to prepare, etc. Baja is a safe place, but there is some crime just like anywhere else. You just have to be smart about things and most importantly have some common sense. Feel free to message me here or DM me if you have any questions or would like me to help you prepare an itinerary and give you some pointers. We may return in November.

Perhaps one of the most important ones apart from safety or security is do you require a letter from your finance company to bring your rig down to Baja? I’ve been as far as the valley of Guadalupe and Cabo San Lucas. I’ve always been fascinated to the natural beauty, how sparse, broad, empty and how serene everything is. Beautiful people, exquisite food. Looking forward to staying in touch, hopefully we can plan it trip as a group one day and have a blast amongst new long lasting friends! Cheers! 🍺👍🏻

Flying Flag campground there is horrendous place. Waayyy over priced with no water station nor dump station. The dry sites DO NOT include water or dumping facilities. What I mean by that, is that the campground has no general dump station for paying customers with water to fill tanks for your stay. They expect you to navigate back down the steep grade and maneuver into the boat launch parking lot with your 35’ rig and pull up to a pay station to take on water. When you leave, to bad. No dump. Plus our overpriced dry site backed up to a slag heap of construction waste. Zero “ocean views” like the misleading photo’s on the web site. We will never stay there again. Just not that idyllic of a spot like their web site portrays it. The tiny town has nothing to offer really. The pier is all there really is. Note that the main topic in this vid is the pier

@@airstreamexpeditions1 My hope is that many people become aware of the items I’ve outlined. I’ve been RV’ing since 2000 and don’t recall an RV campground that would not allow you to dump or load water like that. Over $100 a night for a dirt lot with zero view and construction slag. The campground is still being built, so there’s construction occurring. There are no dump stations anywhere near to Avila Beach. You’d have to drive to Pismo to find water or dump.

Hi Steven, thank you for watching and supporting our channel. Here are my suggestions… 1. Do your research on KZbin and get familiar with areas you would like to visit. 2. Download the Campendium and iOverlander app. To your smartphone. This will help you plan out your trip and give you ideas as to where to camp. If you are unsure the distance between two destinations just plug them in to Google maps and it will tell you the distance and estimated driving time between locations . 3. I suggest joining two Facebook groups. Talk Baja and Safe Camping in Baja Mexico. Here you can do more research and ask questions. Both groups are run by the same person, an American man married to a Mexican woman who has lived in Baja for quite a while. You may be able to join a caravan, but it’s really easy to get around Baja as there is just two main roads, one on the Pacific side and one on the sea of Cortez side. I hope this helps, if you have any other questions, please reach out.

Depending on the time of year you visit, yellowtail can sometimes be down deep. In that case, we use 80 pound test with an Owner 6/O hook. Other times of the year they’re on the surface and you can catch them with irons. I always suggest calling the Captain ahead of time and asking him what gear to bring. I usually bring my own gear but it’s not needed. Just let your captain know ahead of time and he can provide a gear for you.
