A Benelux-related video is in plan, alongside some others like the Nordics, KzM and Iberia, but sadly none have made it out of the planning phase due to University. For exactly this reason, I have two more short vids scheduled ahead, created during my early Uni days. Only when things get relaxed (and I get that 1962 + 1964 material + the 2008, 2009 and 2012 semi-finals) will I finally get to work on the Benelux vid I hope you understand this, and if you do, thank you (;

3/4 of Hungary's 12 pts came from the first three votiing countries. It never happened again iirc.

@PenguinESC it is the best start for a country in the voting process in history. Only Denmark 2000 came close (12+10+12). Hungary seemed to win in a major landslide and then they suddenly faltered

We would've been relegated but we object because Germany didn't give us any points since it was televoting. So EBU allowed us to participate in 2003 and we won.

It sounds less believable than the original plan of relegating everyone that wasn't a Big 4 country or in the top 10 of 2002 to let some new countries like Belarus and S&M compete, which meant that everyone up to Slovenia, Belgium and B&H would have likely faced relegation

In 1977 Greece received from Spain its first 12p in the contest! Moreover, the Greek jury gave 12p. to Monaco, thus propulsing it to 4th place, while Greece itself remained 5th with just 4 votes less.

Dinle is undeniably the most unique song of the 1997 ESC. Gorgeous musical instruments, catchy tunes, and a great voice. The problem was that the song was performed in the ESC.

Unfortunately, the oldest edition to implement the 12 points system is 1975. Before that, multiple other systems were used, so I can't make a 12 points video on 1974 when that system hadn't been used yet

Seeing the list of countries, it was clear that it will be a duel between Poland and Romania... and I had this feeling despite not knowing how well any of these countries did in the 90's...

Indeed, Poland simply fared better than everyone else in the 90s (and early 2000s) or just flat out did not have competition unless they were relegated. That changed when the semi-finals were introduced with Albania and Romania initially getting the spotlight, then Hungary and Bulgaria, and now Czechia

Germany has never competed as East Germany, but rather as West Germany, and everything since 1990 has remained pretty western, with western participants, and just...one Germany, taken by the Western counterpart. So I didn't include it. Unlike Czechoslovakia that split into two countries that did participate, East Germany got annexed into West Germany, therefore ceasing its existence
