Yamamoto was a naval officer not an army officer...It is said he was shot before his aircraft hit the ground....he would have not looked pristine...

People say he was against the war however, he took charge of it, he followed through, he prosecuted the war instead of resigning. I don't care how he felt about his role, he did it and he kept doing it. A man has choices. Stop apologizing for a murderer, if he hadn't died in battle the US would've executed him for Pearl Harbor.

Yamamato's pilot should have climbed as high and as fast as he could when they made first visual contact with enemy to make enemy overshoot and give his fighters time to counter attack, and then dive down to low level and hope the enemy runs out of ammo or fuel and buy his fighters time for second attack on attacker`s

it was a strategic mistake for the American's to target Yamamoto. He was predictable and therefor easy to anticipate and counter. the same reason they didn't target Hitler, he was doing more harm than good.

Yamamoto was forced into this war. As a military man he did as was asked of him. He was educated in the USA He know what was going to happen. In fact he predicted it very accurately.

Context is always helpful. Yamamoto ran over the Brits in the Indian Ocean and the Brits and Dutch in Southeast Asia well before Pearl Harbor. He was already busy waging a war of conquest that included the atrocities in China. Not honorable. And Rommel was a Nazi, bought off by Hitler with bribe money, which was Hitler's practice in dealing with Wehrmacht commanders. It's called corruption. Also not honorable.

Actually, Erwin Rommel was not a member of the Nazi Party, although he welcomed in the Nazi regime and Adolf Hitler, to which he was forces to commit suicide for his support of 'opposing' said regime.

people can say what they want about Yamamoto's part in pearl harbor, and of the attack on the US, from my studies and research, i have found NOTHING, that would imply he was a bad man or an agressive man, he was honorable, and a kind man to those who knew him, even to those who didnt know him but met him said the same thing, he was honorbound to follow his country where he was ordered (as is the tradition of the japanese people as a whole), R.I.P Isoroku Yamamoto, may your honor, values, and tradition be remembered by all.

This didnt stop the japanese from using their already cracked codes is crazy. The chance that the Americans are literally intercepting them in the middle of nowhere just the biggest coincidence of all time? Anyways, Yamamoto is a very fascinating figure to me and many others. Went down like many of the men he ordered.

In addition to the terrorist attack on Pearl Harbor, Yamamoto was responsible for countless American deaths - pardon me if I'm unmoved... This was the longest USAAF interception of the entire war (any theater) - requiring over 2.5 hours of wave-height flight in extreme heat on the way out to Bougainville with near perfect timing (arriving within a minute or two of the targeted time). FAFO....
