"I have extensive experience working in seven different plants across the United States. Currently, I'm at the Dolton, IL plant, and I'm eager to have a conversation with the team. For instance, we are currently facing issues such as shutting down a tank and problems with our food jar machines. These machines should be capable of consistently packing 94-95 %a day, but due to certain decisions by our tank and production managers, they are not performing optimally. One key concern is the excessive cooling time, which is running at 360 degrees when it should ideally be around 115-100 degrees. This approach is affecting the glass quality and causing offset finishes, which in turn leads to inefficiencies and increased costs. The one-size-fits-all approach to blank cooling time is not suitable for our machines; it's a strategy better suited to machines with quadrants. I've had firsthand experience successfully optimizing plants like this one, and with the changes I can implement, I estimate that we could save $100,000 per week, and that's just the beginning.
