Ace himself reminds me of Mr. Director from Animaniacs.

Before looking up this video I was actually just getting round to converting some of my own home videos, and I happened to come across some footage of the Ace Ventura show from summer 1996, so I’m guessing that must’ve been you too. Unfortunately the picture quality of my version has degraded a lot over the years.

(Just in case anyone cares or is here for research) The footage of a performing orca is of a baby whale named Kalina. She’s a hybrid orca (half American pacific and half Icelandic Atlantic). She was known for being extremely friendly docile and subdominant. Unfortunately she was separated from her mother Katina this same year (1990) and her mother was extremely upset over the ordeal. Kalina had 4 calves: Keet, Keto, Tuar, and Skyla, before dying of sepsis at 25 in 2010. Her son, Keet, still lives in SW San Diego and son Tuar in San Antonio. Keet acts like kalina Tuar looks just like her. Her mother, Katina, outlived her and she still lives in seaworld Orlando today as the elder and matriarch of the pod there.

Thanks for taking me back. I was in high school then and remember riding the MCT shuttle bus every weekday morning to go to summer school -- by degrees, the route downtown would change due to the rising water but one sight I will never forget is that "gang way" constructed for the Alton Belle casino. It looked like matchsticks on top of the water! I could not believe people would be that determined to lose their money.
