So many years ago I saw Concrete Blonde's last live show at the Wiltern before they disbanded. What a memory. Roland Orzabal was there as a fan!

Wow, I didn't think I could like Johnette even more! I've been a fan of CB since the early 90s & have seen em play a couple of times. She was always spot on vocally. Yes, I always thought she was underrated too, but also glad she didn't get too mainstream. I think she was talented enough to enjoy the musical life & then enjoy life instead of being ruined by the industry like so many do. She seems really cool & chill, & also loves animals, which is a plus for me 😻

I love her! I would love to hear an album of her covering the Stones, Janis, the Doors and all the classic rock. She's an amazing performer, a great voice, under the radar but world class!

The interview guy at 0:42 confused Randy. The early films Jimi playing in ‘little Richard’ of course Jimi is choreographed because that’s how Jimi got paid.. But what he’s saying say is Hendrix was more together laid back on stage. As Jimi progressed he became more flamboyant on stage. No! When Jimi first hit scene in London Jimi would get crazy, but always land on his feet at first.. By the time band of gypsies’ 69 ,70 came out, Jimi’s just standing on stage. The sad thing about the Jimi Hendrix experience with Noel, Mitch is the shows on film are NOT Jimi at his best. Mitch said interview royal hall London said that was awful show. Jimi even snaps at Mitch at one point, during that show it’s on KZbin. Anything after the experience Jimi’ is NOT crazy. When band of gypsies started doing shows, complaints from women in Jimi’s audience. Where’s the cute whiteboys Jimi had with him. Regardless what people say about Noel Redding the experiance much tighter. Elton John, mick fleetwood, everybody who saw Jimi said they had yet to see better performance from musician. Mick fleetwood said Jimi Hendrix experience proceeded to our blow minds! Freddy mercury was in art student at the time. Freddy went out of his way to see Hendrix. Other city’s too see Jimi. Freddy kept a picture center of his mirror. Freddy said everything about Jimi, he was ultimate rock star.

You know, i gotta thank my friends, Becky( punk rock girl) her X, Richard, Hava , julia, and another girl i knew that turned me on to Concrete blonde when they did! I just got strung out on smack in a college town near Detroit! We'd all get beer, 🍺, weed, and lye around in a pile on the floor of pillows listening to music , it was like 1992, were all in our 20's and had jobs and they played walking in london, and bloodletting! OHHH MYYY F@#KING YESSSSSS! it was what the doctor orderd! Still to this day, 2024, im playing the concrete every fucking were i go amoung other REAL BANDS! So thanks to them, i wish i could reunite with them and do it allllllllll again! Killer!! ❤🤘🙂🤘🎵💎🎸💎🎸💎🎸🎵🌹

The problem is they made home recording too easy that people who SHOULD NOT make music. To get to the gems ya gotta sift thru the dregs . The Music revolution IS here it's just taking awhile.Quality bands can make quality music for the people and the Companies can blow. All that BS -making music a business-breaks up so many bands, causes OD's and just tragedy of a sort for the bands who wade thru that shit .Could be promoting themselves .Organizing their own tour and most of all MAKING MUSIC Johnette you are my Favorite Female singer, song writer, artist. Was lucky enough to be front row KC for the reunion tour. Thanks for doin' the interview too !!

Interesting lady. I love what she said about success. What's the point if it isn't your face...your clothes...your music....essentially she is saying if your music or art is not coming from a genuine real place it's not really you. Having success on someone else's terms is a good way of getting you on a therapist's couch ...funny!!!! Jim Morrison sang it in Riders On The Storm ...like an actor out on loan!! Lot's of musician's and entertainers walking around needing therapy. Listening to her songs and how she speaks they are real and she is authentic ....even her funny laugh. I am glad she is happy in her personal life and has found balance. Her songs are so poignant and moving and uplifting dealing in places few venture to go. Thanks for this very candid and inspiring interview!!!!
