Could it be possible young Mukunda was looking for mother like affection and acceptance from Sri Yukteshwarji along with transferring himself?? Referring to chain of events that he had quite a time with Ananta after his mother’s passing and he yearned for divine connection for years until he met his Guru. Just a thought.

Speaking of guilt, along with psychological and emotional consequences, we also have a cellular memory. Our body remembers, the cells remember so indeed healing at all levels and connection with the Divine be genuine, sincere and in devotion. Like Guruji said, 'One has to be fit for self-realization.'

Your insightful conversation reminded me of Guruji's work on how we can practice Silence (referring to inner silence as in thoughts in the mind in responding to outer chaos). 'Be calmly active and actively calm, and how beautifully Sri Yukteshwarji taught him this wisdom when he had to catch trains to go back from ashram. I have a childhood habit of bowing down (pranama) as I pass through all temple shrines on road, The best part of spiritual adventure is this that it longer remains dormant or a memory but we become alive with truth and practice enough. in fact life starts giving more opportunities in disguise😅 also, in our working mode, using Mindfulness might help to come into contact with breath and thoughts and gently bring it back; it's like using meditative effects in action consciously.

Hi. Could you clarify the name of Priyank’s background pic, please? - Also, I for one very much appreciate all of your own questions and then sharing your personal experiences with various aspects of our practices. E.g., long meditations; overly long sleep, etc. Since I usually have or have had similar experiences and conclusions, it’s very encouraging. - Kudos to Chris for his very romantic act of recording his voice for his wife (apparently a foreign notion to Priyank, judging by his giggles!). Thanks, gang. Luv ur insights. Mike always offers a fascinating perspective. And yes. Lauren, this book can be a treasure to absolutely anyone who tries it on ❤

Re holding hands -isn’t it interesting how little kids so easily and spontaneously take each other’s hands, just to walk around and do whatever, innocently and openly? It’s noteworthy maybe that there are chakras in the palms of the hands. We should all still be like that! 😊 Re rock candy. It so happens I grew up with a candy-&-ice cream store nearby where rock candy was sold. Now I can recognize the form of it as resembling crystals, likely one of its attractions, in addition to the pure sugar).

Re the idea of “betraying” God. Line 15 of “The Hound of Heaven” reads: “All things betray thee who betrayed Me.” There’s a recording of guruji reciting excerpts on the CD, “Songs and Chants.” It’s very touching and powerful.

Hello! Thanks a lot for the video. I am very glad to join the conversation. I would like to talk to you. I hope that I will watch all your videos soon, as there are problems with KZbin in my country. I'm surprised they're discussing Dhirananda. I started researching my past life. I was born in 1990 and my life is full of unusual things. At Swami Dhirananda's request, your channel came out. I am a disciple of Yogananda. And I'm looking for his students to communicate with. My name is Julia. I live in Russia. I think Dhirananda is a disciple of Yogananda and he has already been born. And his life is difficult. And thank you for saying nice things about him. But due to the fact that I live in Russia, it is impossible to make a money transfer to another country here, I cannot buy some books about Yogananda. If you have Satyananda, Dasgupta's, Mejda books, could you send them to me? Will I write my email? Please let me know.

Chris, Shiv is mostly considered as karunavatar (infinite manifested as compassion) in old indian texts.He is also adiguru so maybe he manifest all the qualities of a guru.Maybe the infinite aspect of god is called mahakaal and in form he is shiv about whom our guruji have written as benevolent and auspicious.Only if priyank can agree because i am just a novice on the path.Jai guru

Thank you for the additional information.. that has added much more depth to our points that we made! Adiguru is also the first guru.. and the first disciples were the Saptarishis? I think if Guruji wrote more about Shiva (rather than mentioning him here and there) we would have a third epic book (other two being Bhagavad Gita and Second Coming of Christ)!
@Hrithik_khandelwal_1
@Hrithik_khandelwal_1 17 күн бұрын
@@YoganandaPodcast The third epic seems wonderful only if guruji had blessed us with it, but i think less information on shiv makes him more appealing and moves us in the direction of knowing him more in spirit of meditation only.

The discussion re prayers for healing, karmic reasons, and Sr. Gyanamata’s prayer was very interesting and timely for me. I too have tried to determine the best way to deal with pain and painful scenarios, how and (when for myself) how much to try tolerance (let alone embracing it-I’m not there yet, alas). In Catholic circles, they would often say “offer it up”. Chris might remember such. 🙂. Thanks for your insights and “shares.” 🕊️ P.S., The subject of pain is in new lesson 60.

The subject of Swami Sri Yukteswar law suiting is pretty interesting, as opposed to what I read recently about his own guru, Lahari Mayhasaya, having ceded his familial house/property to quibbling relatives. And then in future, Guruji having to contend with lawsuits and property issues in America. Interesting prolonged thread.

I have come to learn (also, important part of my profession), NO RESISTANCE to any experience, including restlessness. ONLY AWARENESS. Once become aware, recognize, accept and make a shift. Afterall, meditation (in and out in daily activities) is a conscious experience of Divinity within and without, it is not suppression and unconscious and some days mind is more restless or distracted particularly when something needs our attention. Mind is a problem solver by its evolutionary nature. We are thinking beings. but through meditation, stronger neural pathways are at work. Bhagavad Gita also explains in terms of 3 Gunas- and so sometimes reading and journaling works best for me to cultivate optimal level of focus and connection back. THANK YOU to each one of you!!

Not supposed to be a rumor. Word was that Master said that he had lived the live of William the Conqueror (confusing to us maybe). But there is some preparation that comes from living as a warrior, and not just as any warrior, but an incredibly successful and powerfully influential man. God is so multifaceted that it is difficult for me to comprehend how reincarnation prepares a soul for future roles in this drama.

I took this reminder, 'Extravagance will bring you discomfort' as be MINDFUL of desires and intention behind those desires (considering everything comes down to money). Only if it plays tricks on you and takes you away from sadhana/ goal/ routine/ or is predominant in thought process- indeed it is creating a discomfort. i believe every choice should make us more humble.

I agree that this episode has given us a fuller picture of what Sri Yukteswar must have been like. (Image wise, I’m always surprised at how different he looked before his hair was white! Maybe because we’re so used to the altar photo.) The recap should be very interesting. Good luck with that 😊Thanx, all.

Re the many pictures we have of Guruji: I had just been thinking of how the mood of each picture seems to penetrate into us in different ways. The pictures all seem to me to have been very deliberately made for separate purposes. (I keep one particular smiling picture accessible at all times. As a reminder to Lighten Up.) They can actually be “studied” I think for minutes at a time, as Paramahansaji’s spirit always seems to penetrate at some deep level.

Now if someone will ask me to tell about myself or my life then following Sri Yukteshwarji my answer would be- 'I am learning to breathe better than I use to.' In my mind and heart, it explains everything from facing, feeling, dealing, overcoming to surrender. In psychotherapy,there is a behavioral technique to help clients overcome phobias/ anxiety- Exposure and flooding. Same like Paramguruji said, you can only cease fear by facing it on face. To this family, must read his work on LIVING FEARLESSLY. From the book, "Anything that weakens your mind is your greatest enemy, and whatever strengthens your mind is your haven."

So glad to find this video and discussion! 🌿 Thank you. The force of Yogananda's Light is still so powerful - enough to help many of us recollect peace and forget division. It's also fascinating to realize that one part of our globe has generated so many 'Saints of Unity' vs religions that, for all their good intentions, imply a fictive deity with both wrath and favorites. Here's to the God of unconditional love, the Creator who adores us and connects our hearts through these maestros of human consciousness... Jesus, Yogananda, Bhagavan, Ma, Buddha, et al - and also the bodhisattvas whose names we may never know. Their vibrational offerings are eternal. Paz y luz, everyone ✨️ 🌏🌿🦋🐕🌲🦉🌛✨️🩵🕉🙏
