Being a British born citizen of Indo Mauritian Heritage, this story made me immensely proud. We Indians, along with other members of the British Empire fought alongside our English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh family to free the world from Nazi tyranny. Unfortunately our story is mostly unknown and unheard. I hope that this will change. When does he say they are going to decide to sell them? He says collectively decide as a family to put them in a museum. The son has had the medal and the rest of his fathers medals and his military related items in his possession since the father passed away. The family over the years has repeatedly declined monetary offers including one from the Lord Ashcroft Victoria Cross collection. They are best deciding on how to have the medals to be put on display for everyone to view and appreciate so that Gian Singh’s contribution to all of mankind can be done properly.

It is VERY common for people to LOAN items like this to museum. Other than in a safety deposit box where else are you going to keep them? The insurance on them alone is very substantial.
