Sonic The Hedgehog released in 2006, so to differentiate it from the first one it's been named Sonic 06 by the fans. But yes, this and the 1991 have the same name. Don't know why

"Chelsea Grin" comes from the term to be given a "Chelsea/Glasgow Smile" which origniated in the UK. It's a dated term that was used for gangsters back in the day. To be given a smile a razor blade is put into someones mouth and cut from their corners of their mouth up towards their ears to look like a "smile". Bring Me The Horizon have a song named Chelsea Smile within this context too. The Chelsea Grin album cover depicts a Chelsea Grin.

Might I add, a bit of an exaggerated chelsea grin

Hanabie tend to view everything - but especially their own band - through this real-life-as-anime lens, which informs their music, looks, and personalities. In anime there is a thing called "character song" (or "image song") that's supposed to give you as a viewer a sense of the personality of an important character in the series. So Matsuri makes such songs for the band's members, and I guess uses the opportunity to practice her EDM production skills. On "Reborn Superstar" Hettsu had "ME the Ultimate Invader of the Universe", and this one here is Chika's character song. The only difference is that Hettsu wrote her own lyrics for "Invader" whereas this one is all Matsuri, plus since Chika cannot sing at all, "Bonus Guilty Time" is autotuned across the board. They even made a music video of sorts for this thing which they broadcast during their EP release livestream.

The slower songs you were thinking of are "Love Ranbu" and "Our 7 Days War", This EP is kind of a mix of their old sound and their newer sound. This song is probably my favorite off the EP.

Gambler refers to Hanabie betting all they had on their band instead of making the sensible choices like pursuing careers and such. The original members literally threw all their time, energy, and money at Hanabie and considering how many years it took for them to finally get their big break, there was probably a lot of stress, uncertainty, and anxiety involved. So these are the emotions that gave birth to this song and why it feels the way it does. Oh, right. The other song you're thinking of is Love Ranbu (Love Rampage). There was no reason discussed why it's so heavy, rather it being so heavy was the reason for it not to be included on their then upcoming album - that was what we were talking about ^^

This song has a touch of another Hanabie song it, I guess it is "Otaku", I could be wrong, but has in one part some melody which sounds familiar, but it sounds different enough that it does not bother me. Still a good song, still a good ep. Nothing wrong with it, in a lot of Electric Callboy songs I detect familiar sound token and I don't care.

This song reminds me of Tales of Villain the most, especially as an overall vibe, but Matsuri's part here is really elaborate, kinda like what she sang in Sentimental Heroine.

@@omnisemantic1 I can not stress enough that they got better on so many levels. Imho Maturi sounds amazing is the last recent songs.
@omnisemantic116 күн бұрын
@@tomate3391 I have to backtrack a bit on what I wrote btw. I listened to ToV again earlier and tbh Matsuri's parts in these two songs are not particularly different in terms of complexity. Rather the melody this time around is somewhat more unusual, which combined with the fact that the second time she sings the part in a different tempo (I think this is a Hanabie first) gives it this peculiar flair...

I love the song too! Like Metamorphose it's a much more straightforward tune than usual, but the chorus is amazing and very addictive. Apparently Matsuri came up with ideas for the song while playing live during their festival run in Europe this summer and the whole thing clicked in place when she was watching Green Day in Switzerland. Which kinda explains the more easy-going punk vibe the track has.
