The Sykes campaign team utilized footage from the wedding video I created in a commercial against Madison's campaign. This footage was ripped from my channel and used without permission. Politics aside, this is a legally wrongful and immoral act. My couples, regardless of their political positions or endeavors, should not have to worry about their footage being used for anything other than what it was created for -- to preserve their personal wedding memories. As a small business owner in the wedding industry, I should not have to worry about my copyrighted work being used for political purposes (or otherwise) either. Sykes and her team have clearly proven they were willing to steal from and potentially harm my business in the effort to help their candidate win. Again, regardless of anyone's political preference, a government role taking advantage of a small business is not a good look. Sykes may have won, but one's character and true colors always shine through. Their actions are unacceptable. Thumbs down all around.
