3:38 This is Nicky Nichols, one of like, eight guys who did all the voiceover for radio and TV in the 70's. It was a tight circle. In the 80's, I was doing a cubicle job, phoning strangers for surveys, (often for the Conservative gov't, for future Canadian Celebrity Alan Gregg's Decima Research). Nicky picked up one day and I tracked his voice. In the middle of the script, I asked if he was who I thought he was. "Is this a gag? Is this Lew?" No, no. Just a guy who aspires to do what you do. He gave me permission and I called him that Sunday for a couple of hours and he helped build my confidence up to give it a go. And I did. Follow your dreams. I have an IMDB page.

Thanks you answered my question. I have a small batch to clean up. Got some nice bacon that's really fatty. Decided to not throw it away this time.

thanks to you for your reply ! back when I was doing that I would buy tallow from organic lambs and render it. Filtering it removed most all of everything that was not oil. That's the bits (blood etc) that make it smell if you use the suet for soap or other cosmetics. Then I could sell it to local craft people.

Jeff, yes we should all congregate for more down time :) See the windows in that video, I have 5 or 6 more of them out behind the wood shed at the camp in Rooth. I want a couple of them but you are welcome to the rest

How incredibly talented were John Candy and Eugene Levy to keep in character the entire time.

Wow talk about homely looking. Eugene Levy in the title pick looks like he stood to close to highly radioactive materials.

Hey just came across this video, is that a 6x10? I’m looking into a similar setup just trying to decide on a good length for the taco to tow
@simpleforging33393 ай бұрын
@@ryandillon2097 the trailer is closer to 9.5' long inside the bed and the width is around 5.5'. I have a 2.7 liter 4 cylinder. If there are any 5-6% grades in the road after I pick up a load I try not to carry more than 1.5 ton. If the roads are fairly flat I can carry 2 ton. I have not looked at what the truck is supposed to haul, I'm likely over but I'm comfortable doing so. I've got an extra leaf in each year spring which carries things nicely. The weakest point of the system is the clutch. I had a 1989 Toyota pickup that I ran for over 300,000 miles until the frame rotted out. Half way through that I put a new clutch in it. I think this Tacoma will soon need a new clutch and I'll put a pressure plate in it that is a bit stiffer as well. The clutch slips way too easily now. The Tacoma is a soft vehicle compared to what it used to be. The dump trailer is the best thing I ever bought. Wish I could have bought one when I turned 16. And the integrated roll out mesh cover for the load is a must have.

How many miles does your Tacoma have now?
@simpleforging33393 ай бұрын
around 140,000 miles I use the dump trailer daily now and I love it. I had an 89 pickup that I sold because the box frame was rotting out and it was over 400,000 miles on it so this truck I got the same thing, 4 cyl 5 spd the 2012 is weak in every way compared to the 1989. I feel now the engine and drivetrain will last forever but everything else will fall off it. I replaced the clutch plate on my 1989 around 200,000 miles and the 2012 will need the same plus a stiffer pressure plate. I undercoat and spray vegetable oil all over, cheap and does just as good a job as every other oil I've sprayed on a piece of metal

Fortunately we don't have to cut enough as much as our forefathers did. We get up early to cut and rake grass to put on the gardens. 1/2 hour before breakfast and a 1/2 hour after supper. It's a smother crop. Weeds don't grow if they can't get sun. The soil doesn't dry out as readily and it's good to move a bit. Peening the blade took a while to get the hang of but they're cutting pretty god now.

This movie was originally released in 1985 so I think prominent movie tape players were VHS at the time but I can't say for sure. I was 14 years old.
