silo 3 elevator hall is a good spot but youd be better off setting up in the upper floor overlooking that whole hall in the security booth and up the ladder. theres 2 outlets. one in each room.no spawns can get save for leyak and portal storm spawns. everything else will spawn in the elevator hall. a few teslas and a disk turret and your all set.

my group is using the security office right now. the security gate is real good. theres even a robot that patrols on the outside but dosent really attack you. we constantly see the robot on the other side of the chasm fighting grunts. its been a great place and im sure we will say there for a long while,

The security office is where my base currently is and its great. After you add the controller to the door you can lock the room down and i just packaged a refrigerator and hauled it in there as well.

I prefer bases with shutters so portal enemies cant come in from outside they still try to open doors without seeing you i prefer the security office where you find your first pistol it has very nice shutter that cover the front entrance you can barricade the back door that is in the room with lockers or trap it with tesla towers its a very nice big space with a built in charging station plus coffe machine there are two issues: you will need alot of Xray towars becouse its kinda large and the leyak and there is NOTHING around you to do so you will need to take a hike to get to quests it is anoying. My SECOND best spot is the caffetaria it takes bit more work than the security office but it grants you many acces points to where you need to be becouse its in the office sector.

Awesome thanks for sharing! I agree about the project zomboid comparison, which is what really drew me to this game haha. I'm playing mainly solo and was literally about to start my first base in the executive office on level 3, but man that security room looks soooo much cooler as a solo base haha.

The only problem I have with the security office is that when I was scoping it out it turned to night and once you open the door close to manufacturing the se unity bot adds the office to its nightly path

im insulted no one mentions the room behind the blacksmiths place - its completely elevated so no patroling enemies or robots will ever find you - its got 2 ways in, one of them being a vent which starts with a 5ft ladder to it and the other.. a door which leads to a catwalk with another ladder - a long stretch for beds and benches along with a large sqaure area for storage or decor - you can GET ON THE ROOF if you wish to make even more space (look up if youre ever on that catwalk i mentioned, see those two thick grey beams? use a shelf to make it up to them) - ... youre literally next to the blacksmith so theres no shortage in supply if you need items specific to the blacksmith - youre only a 20 second walk away from the racall station of arguably the most valuable vehicle in the game (the forklift) - youre the same distance from the tram to the office sector which is basically the key intersection leading to other areas i could go on.. but id probably crash someones pc once they click "read more" with all the advantages that base location has

1 and 2 are too far from the action, 3 is too open. 4 is good but not the best you can get with lv1 hack. 6 is good as the very-very first base, but too far from midgame action.

Instead of the gym and kitchen i prefer using the long kitchen room just next door. Its a central area so you can go basically everywhere on that floor with ease

I use the room right next to the entrance to the whole elevator area. The one in the cafetera overlooking the area where the security bot comes out. It comes with a power source, has tons of room, and connects you to every wing in the game.

Best place - always near water, because cooking and planting cost lots of time and water. So my personal 2 favorites: Early-mid game base in the gym near open space office with kitchen and garden located at the swimming pool (you can place them literally inside water area with little help of wooden bridges) and Endgame base at the balcony above big aquarium in the wildlife pens with kitchen located in the aquarium with little help of wooden bridges (also you can build your own path directly to the balcony from the fish tank kitchen with bridges and ramps).

Actually the EXACT same 2 spots for me too! I made a vid about these very spots a week ago. I am pleased to see somebody else with the exact same thought process. I took the overeating and overdrinking traits to get some extra points, so I NEED close water for me and the farms.

@@bigkidBAM Yeah, for the second run I took overdrinking and couple more bad traits, because in my first run I learned, that bean bag for two additional slots - is most useful perks in pair with big brain for more xp. Everything else you can achieve by simply playing the game, or maybe grind a little bit. By the way, I found one more spot for base. It is in the west construction area, where big grinder is. There are no enemies, two big water silos, but most important - there are caves nearby at the end of which you can find pond with portal under the water, that can teleport you to the balcony above that grinder, but it is not the case, because the thing you should think about is water in that portal pond. This water is not regular water, it's a antiverse juice, which is pretty similar to the pure water. You can drink it from the pond without any risks and even use that water in the cooking like pure water! You can store that juice in any bottle, barrel, pot! But it is not suitable for gardening... But anyway there is two silos with tainted water nearby at the grinder area, so with that base spot you make your life pretty much easier with all of that boiling! I'm definitely would try this in my third run :)

@@DeusMechanikus that's actually good to know about the special water! Sucks you can't use it for farming. That'd be the greatest hydroponic farm in the game!!! If only that spot was found earlier on, when you need to boil every pot of water just to drink and water farms. I ended up picking up and hauling back every single water cooler I could find until I unlocked the filtration barrel. LOL And I also took the big brain perk. That was, by far, the first one I jumped on. But I wanted a few more, so I grabbed some silly negative ones that didn't harm me too much. Ended up with quite a lot of perks. And 10 points is just TOO much to spend for 2 extra slots, IMO. No thanx on that one. I'm probably going to wait until more content is released to play again. Unless I can convince a couple friends to jump in with me. I'm making content on some other games for now, until some BIG releases hit this year that I'm really looking forward to. Abiotic Factor went under the radar for me until I started seeing it everywhere. I usually avoid most early release games. But this one I had to jump on, since I grew up with the original Half-Life. :)

@@bigkidBAM Perks and builds are good if only they are suitable for you, so it is totally understandable if you don't like those two slots :) Anyway, I am most pleased by the way which this game is going. Few patches away I was upset because of repair bench that can't use resources in the containers around like workbenche does and look at it now! This is make me so hopeful about this game, so I even decided to share my suggestion about pest wheels in steam developers forum. So if after that I saw something with that case - I wold be so hyped. The next content update, I hope, will be soon because in the first place it's called "Summer update", so it is in the reach of couple of months or maybe we can see it in that June. I hope so... Anyway, goodluck with your content creation and it is was pleasure for me to share some common thoughts with someone about this game!

@@DeusMechanikus yeah, I'm hoping for more content sooner rather than later! I'll definitely be popping on and off and trying some new builds and stuff in the future. Might make some content just in regards to all the different style of builds possible. Thanx for the well wishes and the good convo! We got our base in the Security Office. Kitchen/garden is on the balcony but we still have 4 cooking stations by the fountain with 8 pots boiling water with a large water drum to min/max drinking water for soups, gardening and washing.

@@pootisbirb7584 ye they never pass through the locker room. We set up a Tesla coil in there but the only thing that ever hits is ourselves. The security bot outside always takes care of attackers for us.

@@Broockle Good to know! i dont wanna waste resources to try fortfy that door plus makes it cramped and makes it so using that door becoems anoying usually the order soldiers *a radio crackle was heard nearby* event they try to get in behind from the security room entrance of the caffeteria they spawn in the kitchen and take the back door so i fortify it becouse there is nothing to use the door for but that locker shortcut is really helpfull for getting back at my old base to the caffetaria

@@Broockle as for the security bot is my only concern now i dont wanna leave my doors open but i also dont wanna lock myself out i wish you could open or close the shutters from the outside... maybe they can implement the hacking tool for that? i have a LOT of furniture i dont wanna leave my door open or the security bot will come in and destroy everything

@@pootisbirb7584 You can just leave it closed, I only occasionally open it to finish off the robot or to harvest. If you have a buddy in the base you can have him open it for you which can be nice.

this video should really be called "early base locations", this was only showcasing places in office, labs has a few good places too, including an absolutely giant free space to build whatever you want

My current main base is in the conference above the little security hut outside of the 1st area. The only complaint I have with it is, is building space. A secondary base I made for manufacturing is the little room above the blacksmith.

As long as you actually use traps the "dangerous" places can be quite safe and give you plenty of resources passively.

Honestly, the current best spot is the office that overlooks the forklift door to manufacturing. Your close to the tram nexus, and the gate can actually be closed and defended if need be. also has a large charger station amd coffee machine. You also have the lab above the fish tanks in labs. Best spots will always be near the metro Also....be sure to tell people they need strom supression on the workbench. Because enemies can spawn on your base at night during a portal storm if you dont have that.

The room directly above the forge is my go to. No spawns inside, good space that you need to climb a ladder to get to so no enemies can get to your base. Its only flaw is it has only one outlet inside.

@@MrBohij Use the outer area too! It's where I set up my stay at the base charger and toilets and decked it out with plants and pictures from around the facility. Also I some stuff down by The Blacksmith (who is the only source of two or three parts), and set up a chill little living room area with a TV pointing at Blacksmith so he can also watch TV! Got this witchy aunt vibe going on. I hope they add some more cosmetics, especially things that can make you look like that Sister of the Unlost! I really enjoyed that base, but I'm going to be looking to move into the cascade labs at some point soon. Maybe inside the Dark Lense Portal area, or on the third or fourth level of C-block? I kind of hate where they set up that first base near the bot, because there are power cables and what not in the vent areas above, and then you could set up traps for the bot to auto destroy it when it comes out. Also it is just too far out from all other locations

Containers are pretty safe. I've left my previous loot in them and have found them after several days. Of course containers in the portal worlds are not as those will respawn.

For security I would recommend using the front room with the window as a radiated item storage. Stick a fridge down in there with a few batteries and you can store all uncooked radiated meat as well as stuff like power cells and other later game radiated items that you really cant store near you until you get the 100% radiation proof storage. Means you won't be constantly radiated in the base itself.

@AmILateToTheParty Ah that's a good place for them too. We have our bedroom in the shooting range as we wanted to have all the beds together and it's the only place safe enough for 6 beds. Make sure you put xray turrets on the 2 main doors too, I'm sure you know why...

Since it is first time to the game for me. Solo. I staying in the gym. At first I staying first floor then i came back to see 2 mob spawning soo I moving everything painfully alone to sec flooor just to have them spawn there as well. Great... There got lot of water cooler and recharger everywhere in office place or back to that Level 2 but it going to be quite a run from here to many place i assume. I plan to moving soon so dont mind little spoiler since I getting annoying that i could not find anvil everywhere til I watch KZbin yeeeah... Loooong running back. *Just reailze you also show gym room too. Guess I keep to it since it nice BUT remember mob can spawn on both floor

11:34 The lights in the office sector 2 is a good place for someone wanting to make a 100% makeshift base, and outside of portal storm there is 0 attacks

I would love a continuation of this series, from playing around in multiplayer and watching gameplay videos it seems that most people make a base in the office sector and stick with it. Base spots in manufactoring and labs (aside from that one round base spot above the aquariums everyone uses) would be cool to spice things up PS I think your video is alright, that said it feels to me that it is too slow at times/drags on, and like you mentioned in the video it would be great to see the base spots built up or furnished a little bit

I put my base on the false roof/vents over the data farm area, there is actually an outlet up there, and you can use teh elevator to get up and down really easily, and no monsters spawn up there (outside of portal storms) I'd say its only major downside is that after pushing into maintenance, running back was kind of a pain until i unlocked the tram.

@@Freddy_the_K not too bad, every one of them ive had thus far, i can usually knock the enemies off the edge and the robot will deal with it at night. and the exors will usually just teleport off of the platform or get stuck somewhere and wont teleport back

@@kameronsandifer7 ah yeah thats a smart idea, its always a lil tedious getting up there, getting down isnt too bad cuz theres a spot where you can fall in between the vent and the walkway and land on another platform and jump to the ground from there without breaking your legs

That security office was ideal when the shutters stayed down Because you can get in through the locker area; and those shutters kept out monsters, the robot and the 'coworker.' That patch makes me sad to be honest, though we just barricade that door now.

If you make a controller, you can fix the shutters in the security office now. Not sure if it stays fixed permanently though.

It does, I fixed the shutter and its now basically my door of getting in and out of the base. Imho this is the ideal base since I use a tesla coil to farm the security bot every night lol
