How does a person lose count using metered pumps? One pump of resin, one pump hardener.

I have an idea of making electricity surround border of boat about dangerous moment: sharks and crocodiles. Maybe name it as "Hot Eelectricity Protection"? And a boiler to add to boat - it actually includes terrorism jumping onto boat right? Or from far managed to destroy propeller also? Or break the moving mechanism?

Great tutorial. Another thing I may add, coating warm wood in decreasing temperatures will pull epoxy into wood better and decrease bubbling. The opposite increases bubbles and reduces adhesion.

Hi, can the EPOXY be used for an outdoor teak table?
@christopherodonnell23752 жыл бұрын
Epoxy can be used on almost any type of wood but not on treated wood that may be still wet with treatment also not on oily woods

Can you give me some insight to what I'm doing? I'm a beginner. I've sealed my hull and glassed the exterior. There is a lot of glass texture showing in spots and the epoxy is fully cured. To fill in the weave I will be unable to sand in the dimples of the weave with sand paper. Is the abrasion provided by a wire brush good enough to provide a gripping surface for a post green fill coat?
@robertcain34263 жыл бұрын
I see you havent had a response yet. Wash the surface with a wet rag or sponge to remove the amine blush. Let it dry and you can filler coat it with more epoxy. Its a good idea to add an additive for easy sanding, West Systems have a fairing compound but i use micro sphears. Mix some of that in but not too much that you cant still brush it on. If you arent worried about fairing it for a painted finish just use the straight epoxy.

After watching several boat building videos on YT, all of which have used epoxy and fiberglass to strengthen and waterproof the hulls, I'm considering using the same technique when I build a truck cap for my pickup. I'm concerned that the epoxy coating will crack when the truck bed and cap flexs a bit during off road excursions. Are my fears unfounded? Do canoes and/or other watercraft flex a bit during use with no cracking of the epoxy coating?

Thank you Al for sharing your knowledge and experience. It will really help me for my restauration project. Here is an advice from my professional experience. If your voice starts to bother you (fatigue, strain, hoarsness), then you should go see an laryngologist. You probably have spasmodic dysphonia, which is treatable.

A dust mask does absolutely nothing when applying epoxy. It WILL NOT prevent you from inhaling fumes if you are sensitive to them, you will need a respirator type mask. And when sanding, the cheap dust masks aren't very good either. Invest in a good quality cartridge type dust mask with a HEPA filter. If you're worried about epoxy splatter on your face, get a full face shield to wear, it won't block your view.
