I had never seen the author of the book, and I greatly enjoyed finally seeing what she looked like, and the beautiful farm in Africa in which she lived. Your short video brought the memories of her life and story to life. For that I thank you for sharing it with us.

I can never thank you both enough for this splendid video 🙏♥️🙏!!! I am a huge fan of Karen Blixen and of course the movie Out of Africa. I visited the Karen Blixen Museum in Nairobi back in 2006. A few days after the visit to the museum I was having lunch in Arusha with my co-travellers and across the dining room was this tiny elderly woman that was the spitting image of Karen 😮❤. I was so transfixed by her presence that I did not have the courage to go talk to her. Again thank you for this video and I have subscribed to your channel.

Even as I love the movie, I strongly recommend the book. There's actually not that much overlap between both. Her experience and recount are wonderfully rich and sensitive.

The books, Out of Africa & Shadows On the Grass are outstanding---her perspective , her appreciation for all things African, her recognition of the differences in cultures--difference, not superiority---and most of all the way heer words paint pictures and tell a story---she is the consummate story-teller! There is also an excellent biography of her, as the movie is, of course, not completely accurate.

Das sind die Ecken, die ich Flensburgerin, zur Welt gekommen und aufgewachsen in der Harrisleer Straße, zu gern Besuche. Seit Jahren sind wir Gäste im HOTEL am RATHAUS, essen oft in Lokalen in der Roten Straße, holen am Markt Rumkugeln, bummeln durch die Innenstadt. Als meine neu gegründete Mittelschule noch Räume einer Schule am Nordergraben nutzte, mussten wir Kinder über den Alten Friedhof zu einem Gymnastiksaal an der Reitbahn! - Herrlich das Kapitänsviertel, in den letzten Jahren der Schulzeit musste ich die vielen Stufen der St. Jürgen-Treppe rauf und runter! Wir Käte-Lassen-Schüler besuchten an den Reformationstagen den Gottesdienst in der St. Jürgen-Kirche. - Ich teilte diesen Bericht! Herzlichen Dank - Liane S. -
