People…Sarah is dead. No longer with us. Died from a combination of cancer as well as complications from alcohol abuse and mental health problems. The Sarah Harding you see on here is Sarah at her rock bottom worst. Addled with personal troubles and severe depression. She was exploited and manipulated into appearing on this program and a lot of people have made snap judgements about her that are simply not true. She was known for being fun loving, cheerful, bubbly and happy-go-lucky. That woman was gone by the time Sarah appeared on here. She never got the help and support she desperately needed…she was forsaken by the entertainment industry, by friends, even her Girls Aloud bandmates. (with the exception of Nadine) This is the unfortunate reality of alcohol dependence and depression. I have first hand experience with it because my Mum went through a similar situation 10 years ago. It changed her. Made her nasty, bad tempered, arrogant, spiteful…even evil. My Mum, who was otherwise the sweetest, tamest and most affable woman you could have the privilege to meet, became someone I loved yet hated at the same time. I’ve seen for myself what alcohol abuse does to people, it alters your whole personality. Sarah here was showing the same signs as my Mum. Angry, bitter, self righteous and smug, yet defensive and even patronising when confronted. My Mother got help for her addiction and it saved her life, gave her another 9 years before finally dying from lung cancer earlier this year. Sarah never got that help, never was able to overcome her demons. Please people. Have some damn respect. Sarah didn’t do herself any favours on here, but remember she was gravely ill and emotionally unstable. No matter what your opinion of her is. Show some f***ing respect. Rest in Peace Sarah.
