just a little question do you do your injections all on one side of your belly, I was told to alternate sides.
@katieskangapouch58225 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for joining, yes it's a challenging road but one we are up for. I do alternate injection sites, I haven't filmed every injection this round since I did that early on in our journey. There may be two day I do it on the same side but that's more because I've spaced on which one I did last time :)

do you mean 6 fertlized or 6 to day 5 6 blast or day 2 or 3 embryos, what clinic are you with it seems very odd to me, he is telling you very wrong numbers if he is telling you you will get all your eggs to blast that does not happen at all, sounds like sperm dna fragmentation after day 3 the sperm kicks in and if they start to arrest then it can be a sperm issue. Fragments can be ok but to me I do not think you stimulated properly, what trigger did you use, and did you have an LH hormone like luveris. Best of luck for next round, I would be doing research into improving sperm and egg quality. I would also be doing some supplements, but I would be asking questions of your clinic.
@katherinecallaway93976 жыл бұрын
Hi Nikki, we got 10 eggs from the retrieval, 6 were mature, 3 fertilized but only made it to day 3 then started fragmenting. The doc did say we should see 80 to 90% of our mature eggs fertilize, he also said it's a sperm issue but since Chad was already on the CoQ10 for a couple months he added the menavit (a sperm health supplement that should work in a smaller amount of time rather than the full 3 months) he also added to me, metformin to help prevent or minimise the fragmenting from the egg side. We are already on some other supplements from before. The clinic we go to does day 5 embryo transplants and I'm really ok with that after I did more research into it myself following this appointment. I feel good about my doctor thanks for watching and keeping an eye out for us.

@@katherinecallaway9397 are you taking melatonin and get your hubby on a fragmentation diet google it, it really helped us, added vitamin B6 12 and D 3 for you and calcium is very important for you to be on as well, did you do HA ICSI, ICSI or just IVF. Sounds like your Dr is aware of the sperm issues, but some Dr in Australia are not keen to add extra stuff into the mix, like if you trigger with overdril you should use two pens not just one. Thinking of you over Christmas we have been in your shoes many many times. We did 10 egg collections, had 17 transfers, 6 where loses 10 where failures one or very last one was a beautiful baby boy. He is 19 months now. Sperm DNA was a huge part of alot of our failures. It can cause implantation failure and early loss. So it is good to get on top of it early. We also dealt with endo and blood clotting issues. Best of luck for your next round.

((hugs)) i am so sorry. This journey SUCKS. IVF #5 just ended in miscarriage at 6weeks here. I'm so numb, I'm so defeated, I'm just ready to know if this journey is ever going to have a happy ending for me. I know exactly how you feel about feeling stupid about being optimistic. I shared with so many friends when I got my positive test and thought it had finally worked and feel like I"ve let everyone down when I lost the pregnancy. :( What was your protocol?

hang in there!!! once things start, it goes so quickly! I'm scheduled for my 5 day transfer tomorrow-- we have 4 embryos growing and got a great day 3 report-- hoping to be able to transfer 1 or 2 and have at least 1 to freeze tomorrow. Baby dust!

i meant to ask-- do you have PCOS? If so, cysts can really put the brakes on being able to start stims. I found a KZbin video on how to get rid of cysts quickly that i swear works. My first round, i ended up with a delay because I had cysts and my estrogen was elevated. I drank this stuff and a week later when i went to repeat my baseline, the cysts were gone. Round 4 my cycle started earlier than expected and I wasn't prepared and lo and behold-- a cyst. Luckily my estrogen wasn't too high and we didn't have to ditch the cycle. I have been drinking my beet juice since Friday and this morning No cysts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ65nmqnrMtkbZI I don't even have PCOS, and I do this because there is nothing worse then being all ready to go and the doctor saying you have to wait because your body decided to betray you again.

Thanks so much, I do have pcos but no cysts to my knowledge at the moment. I truly am praying for your special number 5 Doria! Thanks for the tips will check it out

@@katieskangapouch5822 even a single cysts can hault your cycle (or cause you Dr to put you on lupron or birth control longer, which can cause over suppression (read: lower follicle count/less eggs at retrieval). The beet juice doesn't taste as bad as it sounds! Twice a day for 3-5 days is all it took for me!
@doriabutler63376 жыл бұрын
Good luck, dear! I had my baseline date with Don Wand this morning (the ultrasound wand) and I didn't have any cysts, so as long as my estrogen level is normal I'll start stims for IVF#5 tomorrow morning. Hoping this is the magic one, I'm so over needles!!! I try to do my best to keep my brain occupied during the waits. I knit, cross-stitch. I'm also doing WHole 30 diet-- and the amount of time I spend meal planning, cooking, and cleaning the kitchen really cuts into the amount of time that I have to sit and stew- and it's a really good meal plan for preparing for IVF.

as far as the frozen sperm.... my clinic requires it just in case. They had a case where the husband was *ehem* unable to produce on retrieval day and they ended up not having anything to use to fertilize the eggs. After that, they make it standard practice to get a frozen sample from the husband/donor just in case

What is bulk billing? (Is that what you are saying?!)
@katieskangapouch58226 жыл бұрын
The practice, among doctors, of choosing to be paid reduced fees directly by the government rather than bill patients fully and bear the cost of billing. Pretty much it's almost free I am only having to pay my 1 hospital free (extra freezing fees if we want that) and my meds.
