I might say about those Buitifull Engine's They've all been restored brought back to how they were all those Decades ago, In fact even better all Credit goes to those Guys who spent years & hard work bringing back to life again, God Bless you all.

I used to stand at Kings Cross 61/2 Immingham had some Brits that they used on the Immingham trains ,they were a bit run down but once they got under way their barking exhaust reverberated when in Gasworks tunnel ,memorable ,also seeing them through New Southgate on the down and up Grimsby and Immingham trains .Happy days,

Up until late 1964, I used to travel to my Grandmothers from Baguley to Cadishead on the CLC line from Stockport to Liverpool. A particular delight was the Partington to Cadishead and reverse section, whereby the usually Stanier 2-6-4 tank loco pulled the 5 suburban coaches from a standing start up over the Manchester Ship Canal viaduct. Window lowered a tad via the leather strap, it was a sound etched in my memory, suitably jogged by this wonderful posting. Thank you.

Australian 60 class Garratt loco makes more noise running light engine.. PS pls get decent whistles in GB 🙏
