I heard this story about a fish.🐠 He swims up to an older fish and says, “I’m trying to find this thing they call ‘the ocean.'” “The ocean? the older fish says, “That’s what you’re in right now.” “This?” says the young fish. “This is water. What I want is the ocean!”

My dear Elaine thank you for your always warm wishes and for taking an interest. It's certainly most difficult to create awareness in some places of the world, opportunities are scarce and politics in arts and culture are, most regretfully, ubiquitous... however, sometimes we manage to push forward a little project, not without terrible struggle and lots of opposition of course. Here's a little something for you! with much love and gratitude kzbin.info/www/bejne/bai9iH-Yqb91q8k

I'm so happy to hear you play this charming piece----did you compose it? It sounds like a piece from the past, but it's possible to compose music that sounds ancient. Your rhythm, speed and accuracy are all quite amazing. I enjoyed this performance thoroughly. I will look for more of your playing on KZbin. Congratulations!! and thank you!!!!

thank you kindly my dearest Elaine! and to think I didn’t even own an instrument back then (just as now haha) so I had to practice “in my head” so to speak or eventually where someone with an instrument would let me! life is tough in the third world…

Perplejo ante tanta virtuosidad...es un maestro sin duda que parece traido de las propias cortes francesas del siglo 17

+Beth .Garfinkel that's wonderful! Feel free to share the link to the Score on IMSLP/Petrucci Music Library on another comment if you like, or send me the link so I can include it in the video description.

+anonimoalfin I'll get around to it, but don't be disappoint if a lot of this figuration isn't in it, because a lot of it is added by the harpsichordist; Handel didn't write all of it.

Handel is mad man with unbelievable genius in this aria. , He is the greatest composer, no wonder Mozart had a crisis after hearing both Handel and Bach.

you can see this at the MET NYC The story behind the painting and the artist John Singer Sargent is worth looking up. For it's time it was quite scandalous.

Rather not, it's more harmonic and pleasant to listen to. It's rather the crazy improvisation called for at that time. You did need to have a fairly great knowledge of improvisation for it to work. Don't even get me started on continuo improvisations.

That's some really hardcore shit going on on that harpsichord. Bet it has to be tuned after such a performance immediately. Oh and the potential for puns here is amazing.
