Some architectural critics are scathing about the gleaming white "Altare della Patria" labelling it the "Wedding cake eyesore" and saying it's totally out of character with the usually mellow brown tones of the buildings in Rome.
@magnificent.tourism6 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment! While some may view the 'Altare della Patria' as an eyesore, I see it as a bold statement that adds variety to Rome's architectural tapestry. Its history and significance can't be overlooked, even if it differs from the city's typical aesthetic.

In the video, it was mentioned that the Obelisk of the Fontana dei Fiumi has a cross on top. However, the figure at the top of the obelisk is actually a dove holding an olive branch, symbolizing peace. I apologize for the confusion.

In this video, I mistakenly said that traditional hand-weaving of carpets is obsolete. I want to clarify that while machine-made carpets are more common, hand-weaving is still actively practiced by skilled artisans. I apologize for the confusion.

I’ve never seen any pictures of inside the buildings of Petra… I’ve always wondered are these building fronts just facades? Sealed stone windows and doors with nothing but rock behind them? Honestly just want to know. Are there pictures of the insides of these?
@magnificent.tourism6 ай бұрын
Visiting the interior of buildings in Petra is quite limited.The limitation is primarily due to preservation concerns and safety reasons. fourtunatly there are some pictures of the interior section on google.

Thank you for making. You know, there is an actual photograph of this building from the 1850s, showing the front columns covered in their original mirror tiles and delicate wooden frames. This is 30 years before the criminal Qajar governor of the city (Zellusultan) made the palace its own harem, ordered all the painting covered in white plaster, and had all column decorations scraped off. (Oh, he also pulled down a couple of dozen of other palaces and building, selling them for raw material!!)
