Thank you! I have read about the history of this penthouse for years. It goes way back in San Francisco high society's history. When I lived in The City, I use to ride my moped up to a park near it that had a great view to the Bay Bridge. I would look up to this building and wondered about their views. Now I get to see what it was like.

I have memories of this property. My father was the Forman here back in the early 60’s when the Bongarts owned the farm. We lived in the small house that had root cellar next to it. I got my working papers when I was 13 so I could work on the farm to help in the haying season and clean and rebed the horse stalls. I would spend time hiking on the old railroad bed that ran alongside the creek , and camping in the pines by the creek where the rocks and the large pool are. It was Rojan farm back then. I miss those days.

interesting town house in a great location, a block from Zabars and the one train, between riverside and history museum central park. i can't think of a better place for a family in the city. for sale for 6 years now? looking for a rare buyer that would want so many apartments to manage, it would be like a hotel with all the hassle and none of the benefits. maybe a large extended family's pied-à-terre? at 11million not low enough for a developer to single family it? who can get a reputable contractor capable now to do this in a reasonable amount of time without a wildly inflated price. only the shadow knows. i would love to dive into this as a 60 year old father of 3 grandfather of 8 but although i'm far from poor and grew up on the UWS it's too rich for us. a pitty. i wish the owners good fortune...

oh great, my view is of a noisy industrial site with cranes, a cargo port plus the occasional Alligator... mmmmm yummy. Puts 48 million back into pocket and decides to gamble it on a 3 legged horse with cateracts carrying an overweight jockey who's just eaten a bacon double cheeseburger and fries.

This stately manor is reminiscent of a bygone Era. Here in the US we don't officially have Royalty. However, we have always had the upper class. This Estate screams "Old Money". So the potential new home owner of this fine Estate would need to belong to the right clubs, the right organizations, have the right connections & have the right background. So it's a lot more involved than just having the right bank account or portfolio.

There is no mention of a full work out gym and wet bar underneath the bedroom. Played that course, been in that home a number of times. Why you may ask , because I was tricked a brand new set of ping irons were bought for me 3-W , $ 169 per club on sale. Brought to Black Development thinking were once again, going to help the house lady catch up on normal cleaning. Nope , greeted at the pro shop, give a cart, a dozen balls, a bag of tees, told there's the first tee go and injoy. Terrible golfer at that time but improved greatly later. My boss Steve n David Behring set that up, a treat this Mn country boy will never forget. It pays to work hard and have a decent personality where er willing to talk to anyone to learn life experiences from others. 75 to 90 what a joy the bay area was , the memories, especially the ones I don't remember. 🙄😂
